Mudra Institute of Communications, (MICA) Ahmedabad Overview
Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad was established in 1991 with one objective in mind, to dedicate itself to creating leadership skills in Strategic Marketing and Communications.
It became the only residential institution that provided proper learning and education which was so focused on communications. It was established by the Mudra Foundation for Communications Research and Education.
Under the guidance of the college President, Dr Shailendra Raj Mehta, the institute provides one course in Postgraduate Diploma in Management - Communications (PGDM-C). It provides a Fellow Management Programme in Communications (FMP-C) and also a Certificate Course in Communications (CCC).
The aforementioned courses are residential while the college also provides online courses. The institute provides a total of 7 online courses which can be done from the comfort of your own home.
Mudra Institute of Communications boasts of about 30 core faculty members and about 20 adjunct and visiting faculties. The faculty members of MICA are experts in their respective fields. They have had experience in the industry and are a constant face in the media. Many of them have published their own journals and research papers.

MICA Ahmedabad Admission Process
All the applicants are selected on the basis of CAT, XAT or GMAT scores. The candidate also has to pass the MICAT test conducted by the college. The MICAT test consists of three parts - a written test, personal interview and a group exercise.
- For PGDM-C, the candidates have to pass CAT, XAT or GMAT exams and the MICAT entrance examination.
- For FPM-C, the candidates need to pass MICAT test and also have work experience in the field.
- For CCC, the candidates need to pass a written online test and a prsonal interview.
- For all the online courses, the candidates need to be a graduate in any discipline and need to state their purpose of doing the course.
MICA Ahmedabad Placements
Mudra Institute of Communications has been able to achieve 100% success level in placements in the batch of 2019-2020. In this batch, around 78 companies participated to recruit students.
The average salary package offered was 12.8 lakhs per annum. The highest package rose to 58.2 lakhs per annum. Summer internships have also given the opportunity for students to grab pre-placement offers.

MICA Ahmedabad Results and cutoff
The cutoffs are announced after the results of CAT exams are declared. Applicants are selected on the basis on the CAT, XAT and GMAT scores and also the entrance examination held by the college, MICAT. The expected cutoff of MICA for CAT and XAT is said to be 78%.
For GMAT it is said to be 80%. Only those candidates who score above the expected cutoff are selected for further interviews and group exercise.

MICA has a registered alumni association body. MICA Alumni Association (MAA) binds together the alumni in mutually beneficial ways. This association strives to create awareness about the institution and its members in general.
They also collaborate with the college to conduct academic programmes such as research, seminars, exchange programmes where the members share their experiences of the industry.
MICA Ahmedabad Scholarships
MICA provides financial aid to the students who are meritorious in the college. Only the students admitted to the residential programmes in the institution are liable to the scholarship. There are a total of 11 scholarships available,10 of which goes to the students admitted in PGDM-C in both first and second years.
They get a compensation of 2 lakhs each. The students in FMP-C get a monthly allowance of 25,000 to 30,000 throughout the duration of their study.

Spread over an area of over 13 acres, MICA offers a huge campus area which is totally air-conditioned. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled to provide better connectivity. The classrooms are equipped with digital technologies to provide a unique experience of learning.
The campus provides hostel facilities separately for boys and girls and is equipped with modern amenities to make life comfortable. It has a Television Audience Measurement Lab to understand the concepts of television broadcasting.
