IIFT Entrance Exam (MBA - IB): Exam Information

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is accepting applications for the IIFT MBA (IB) 2019-2021 [Master of Business Administration in International Business] at New Delhi, Kolkata & Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) Campuses for the academic year 2019-2021. Admission is on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by IIFT itself.

MBA in International Business: Overview

IIFT’s flagship MBA in International Business is a six-trimester general management programme focusing in particular on International Business. The institute aims to develop a competent cadre of business execs to meet India’s growing requirements for personnel adept in the field of International Business Management.

About IIFT

IIFT offers a range of programmes from Ph.D. to a Diploma and Certificate Courses in International Business. The MBA in International Business in Delhi and Kolkata campus still remains the flagship programme for the Institute. The Institute offers programmes in full-time as well as part-time mode of study.

IIFT came into existence in 1963 to bolster trade-related academics. From then to now, IIFT has emerged as a leading B-School in Asia Pacific. It is also a hub of research for foreign trade and policy matters.

  • In 2015, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) recognized IIFT as a Grade ‘A’ institution.

IIFT Entrance Exam: Important Dates for 2018-19

Registrations for the IIFT EE are now closed. Candidates who have registered can however request a change in examination centre for an additional fee of Rs. 1,000/- till the 5th of November.

Admit card for IIFT is scheduled to be released on the 16th of November.

IIFT Eligibility

To be eligible to appear for IIFT Entrance Exam for admission to the MBA IB course, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility as stated below:

Educational Criteria

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University or equivalent institute (minimum 3 years’ duration) with 50% marks or above.
  2. Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by 7th October 2019.
  3. No age limit.

How to Apply for IIFT Entrance Exam?

IIFT 2019 application process commenced on 6th August and applications were closed on 24th September 2018. Applications can be filled online only.   

  • To register, candidates must visit the official IIFT website, i.e. www.iift.edu
  • Here, candidate must click on the “2019 Admissions” option
  • Candidates must then fill up the Online Application Form as per details mentioned in the form.

The application form will require candidates to scan and upload certain documents. You must have the following documents ready while applying:

There is no separate application screening fee. This one fee covers both application screening and entrance exam fee.

Candidates shortlisted after the Written Examination will be called for the second stage.

Results for the 1st stage are expected to be sometime in the 1st week of January and interview process will be conducted in the last week of January or first week of February.

Admit Card

The IIFT Admit Cards for the entrance exam can be downloaded from IIFT’s official website, tedu.iift.ac.in  from 16th November 2018.

Admit Card must be printed out and carried along with the candidate on the exam day. Further, candidates must also bring 1 valid government ID proof with them. Below is the list of accepted proofs (only one is required):

IIFT Result

The Written Exam result of the IIFT 2019 exam will tentatively be released in the first week of January 2019. Candidates can access the same online, on IIFT official website.

  • Overall as well as sectional score will be displayed
  • On the basis of the marks in Stage 1, candidates will be shortlisted for Stage 2:Writing test, GD, and PI.

IIFT Cutoff 2018

The cutoff determined by IIFT for Stage 1 determines whether candidate is shortlisted for Stage 2. IIFT has an overall as well as sectional cutoff criteria. The overall cutoff for Stage 1 in IIFT 2018 is as follows:
