IIFT Entrance Exam (MBA - IB): Exam Information

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is accepting applications for the IIFT MBA (IB) 2019-2021 [Master of Business Administration in International Business] at New Delhi, Kolkata & Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) Campuses for the academic year 2019-2021. Admission is on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by IIFT itself.

MBA in International Business: Overview

IIFT’s flagship MBA in International Business is a six-trimester general management programme focusing in particular on International Business. The institute aims to develop a competent cadre of business execs to meet India’s growing requirements for personnel adept in the field of International Business Management.

About IIFT

IIFT offers a range of programmes from Ph.D. to a Diploma and Certificate Courses in International Business. The MBA in International Business in Delhi and Kolkata campus still remains the flagship programme for the Institute. The Institute offers programmes in full-time as well as part-time mode of study.

IIFT Entrance Exam: Important Dates for 2018-19

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), established in 1963 is an autonomous public institute known for its flagship master’s program Master of Business Administration in International Business (MBA-IB). Every year the institute conducts its entrance examination, annually organized by IIFT Delhi, which is a gateway for admission to MBA program. Through this exam, IIFT Delhi offers around 600 seats at its Delhi and Kolkata campus. Candidates across the country who wish to take admission into MBA (IB) appear for the IIFT entrance exam. The candidates shortlisted based on entrance exam undergo further selection process which includes – Essay Writing, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The MBA (International Business) program is a full-time two-year course which offers student a wide spectrum of career choices to make. One can aspire to be employable for global business, import & export business, learn international laws with general management, consultancy to government policy makers in areas of commerce and economy are few to mention.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. For general category candidates: Candidate should have a minimum 3-year graduation degree in any discipline with 50% marks from a recognized university/institute/college are eligible to apply.
  2. For SC, ST and PWD category candidates: Candidates should have a minimum 45% marks in graduation are eligible to apply.
  3. Students in final year of their graduation can also apply.
  4. Foreign nationals and NRIs with a valid GMAT score not older than January 1, 2018 are also eligible to apply.
  5. Candidates of any age are eligible to apply.

Exam Pattern

  • The duration of the exam is two hours with no sectional time limit. Though the total marks for the exam are 100, the number of questions differs every year.
  • The exam has six sections each consists of only MCQs – English Grammar, Vocabulary and Comprehension, GK and Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Analysis.

IIFT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The IIFT examination for the fresh batch of 2019 has already started and the candidates are now just waiting on the results. The candidates need to follow a few eligibility criteria to be allowed to appear for the exam. The candidates who are unable to or fail to follow the criteria will not be allowed to give the exam. The candidates mainly need to have a bachelor’s degree to be able to appear for the IIFT exam. There is no marks limit or requirement for the application submission. The students who are in their last year of any bachelor’s degree are also allowed to apply for the examination. These students will need to clear their bachelor’s exams before they get admission through IIFT.

  2. No age limit for IIFT exam.
  3. Candidates in their final year of graduation are applicable to apply for the exam.
  4. Work experience is not necessary.
  • Foreign or NRI students
  1. They can apply on the bases of their GMAT scores.
  2. NRI-sponsored candidates do not come under this category.
  3. The allowed GMAT score should be of after 2015 and it should reach the authorities before 31st March, 2019.
  4. The application will be available till 15th September, 2018 and the application fee will be INR 4500/- or US$ 80.

IIFT 2018 Syllabus

IIFT stands for Indian Institute for Foreign Trade, New Delhi. It is conducted for securing admissions into its MBA (IB) Program. IIFT 2019 was conducted in the month of December 2018. It is an online application process in which students need to fill their personal details. The application fee for the exam is Rs.1650/- for students of General Category and Rs.825/- for students belonging to reserved category like OBC, St and SC. The payment must be made online using a credit card, debit card or NEFT.

IIFT 2018 Admit Card

IIFT is a national-level management entrance exam which is conducted every year by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, for admission to its MBA (IB) program. IIFT 2019 was conducted on2/12/18. This exam can be conducted in offline or paper-pencil mode. There were around 18 exam centers across India. IIFT Delhi offers around 600 seats at its Delhi and Kolkata campus. About 75,000 candidates appeared for IIFT 2019. The results were declared on January 15, 2019. 2097 candidates have been shortlisted for further rounds.

The application for IIFT 2019 started on August 6, 2018. The last date to fill the application form was on September 14, 2018. The concede card was accessible from November 16, 2018, onwards. Competitors who qualify the test will be shortlisted for the determination procedure which contains-Writing Test, GD, and PI.

Admit Card:

-Candidates will be able to download the IIFT admit card 2019 with their registered id and password.

– Candidates are required to carry them to the exam center on the day of the exam along with an id proof

– Aadhar id card, Election id card, Driving License or Passport.

-Without the admit card, the candidate will be allowed to write the IIFT 2019 exam.

IIFT 2018 Result

Those of who are waiting on the IIFT result the wait is over IIFT Delhi just released the score card for their exam that took place on January 24. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their score cards on the IIFT website by logging in using your ID roll no and credentials. The score card is not downloadable so candidates should take a print out of it. The score card will be valid from now till November 30. For now, 2097 have been shortlisted for the next round.

Girls who have cleared the section wise cut-off the cut off is lowered by 2% for them.

The list for the final candidates who will be selected for the MBA (IB) programme at IIFT starting in 2019 will be released in the second week of April. Before that, the candidates who have been shortlisted now will have to appear for the – Group Discussion (GD), Writing Skill Assessment and Personal Interview (PI). After completing all three remaining rounds the final list for the selected candidates will be revealed who will get into either IIFT Delhi or IIFT Kolkata.

What to keep in mind for GD/PI/WAT?

Writing Ability test- the candidates will be asked to write an essay or comprehension on a given topic to the best of their ability and knowledge. Their writing and comprehension ability will be test based on it and then they will be short listed for the next round which will be the Group discussion and Personal Interview.

Group Discussion and the Personal Interview- the candidates which will be selected from the WAT will appear for this round. This round is to access the verbal and communication skills of the candidates. The candidates will be finally selected on the basis of this.
