JEE Mains 2019 Exam Information

Joint Entrance Examination JEE Main examination will be conducted by NTA from 2019. Until 2018, the JEE Mains exam was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. JEE Main 2019 examination will be applicable for admissions into IITs, NITs and CFTIs participating through Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the provision that the candidate must have scored a minimum of 75% of marks in their 12th standard examination or should be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th standard examination conducted by the respective Boards. For ST/ Sc candidates the qualifying marks will be 65% in the 12th standard examination.

JEE Mains 2019 will be conducted by National Testing Agency. The NTA will be conducting JEE Mains for Engineering and Architecture papers twice in 2019 – in January and also in April. The B.Tech. [Paper I] paper will be conducted from the 6th of January to the 20th of January(first attempt)/April(Second attempt)  while the B.Arch. [Paper II] will be conducted on 8th of January (in two shifts).

The national level engineering college entrance exam will be conducted biannually (twice a year) – i.e., in January and April in online mode as Computer-based Examination. Candidates have the option of attempting the in either session or in both as well. JEE Mains Score and Ranking determine admissions to various courses in participating NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs though Central Seat Allocation Board. Those qualifying the Mains can appear for JEE Advanced exam which determines admissions to 23 IITs based on All India Ranking.

January Session of JEE Main 2019

The NTA has released the final exam centre, date and shift (slot) allocation for the JEE Main 2019 (January session). It can be accessed by all successfully registered candidates by logging on to the Official NTA website – nta.ac.in. You will need to enter the NTA Registration ID/Number and Password t0 access the examination timing/venue details.

JEE Mains Admit Card are expected to be released as per schedule on the 17th of December 2018. They will be available for download on the JEE Main or NTA Page on logging in.

The candidates must be aware of the important JEE Mains 2019 exam date. JEE mains examination will be held twice in a year. So the exam dates for both the sessions will be available separately.

The NATA (National Testing Agency) will release JEE Main eligibility along with the official notification on the website. The candidates who have passed or appearing for the 12th standard with a minimum of 75% marks which is the JEE main eligibility marks can attempt the JEE main 2019 examination. The engineering exam will be conducted twice in a year in online mode from 2019 onwards.

The JEE main eligibility criteria for age limit is that there is no age limit for the candidates to appear for the exam. The candidates must have passed 10+2 standard examination during 2017 or 2018. The candidates attempting 10 or 12th standard level examination in 2019 can also apply for the examination.

The candidates should have cleared 12th standard or qualifying exam in 2017 or 2018. The candidates attempting 12th standard or equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 can also apply for the JEE main examination.

The candidates are allowed to appear for 3 consecutive years for the JEE Examination. Even though the examination will be conducted twice in a year, the candidates can even appear for both the attempts and the attempt for the particular year will be considered as one.

JEE Mains 2019 Registration

The JEE main registration can be done only through online mode. The NATA has released the JEE mains 2019 registration through online mode. In JEE mains application form, the candidates must select the exam city center as per the choice of papers.

The candidates should go through the application form carefully and then fill all the details asked for in the application form. The application forms must be submitted through online and the other forms of application forms will not be encouraged by the board.

The candidates can visit the official website and fill the online application form using the JEE main registration 2019 link present on the website. After completing the above- mentioned step, your Registration ID and Password will be generated to your mobile phone and email id. The candidates must complete their application process before the last date for completion of the application form.

Once the application form is filled, the candidates should complete the JEE main application fee payment. Only after the application fee payment is done, the online application form of the candidates will be accepted. So it is very important for the candidates to complete the fee payment once the application form is completely filled.

JEE Mains 2019 Exam Pattern

JEE main exam pattern 2019 will consist of 2 papers, Paper 1 will be for B.E/ B.Tech candidates and Paper 2 for B.Planning/ B.Arch candidates. According to JEE main 2019 pattern, Paper 1 will contain questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects providing equal weight-age for a total of 360 marks. Paper 2 will contain Aptitude, Mathematics and Drawing skills for a total of 390 marks. The time duration of the exam will be for 3 hours. Paper 1 will be of Computer-based and Paper 2 will be partly computer-based and partly pen-and-paper mode.

JEE Mains Cutoff

National Testing Agency will release the cut off for JEE Main 2019 separately for the two session (January and April). CBSE will no longer be conducting the exam nor release the results and cutoffs. With the proclamation of JEE mains results and AIR, NTA will also been publishing percentile score.

JEE Main Cutoff is evaluated based on a number of factors. JAB (Joint Admission Board) has already declared from JEE Main 2017 onwards that class 12th marks will not be for calculating All India Ranks in JEE Main.
