JEE Mains 2019 Exam Information

JEE Mains 2019 will be conducted by National Testing Agency. The NTA will be conducting JEE Mains for Engineering and Architecture papers twice in 2019 – in January and also in April. The B.Tech. [Paper I] paper will be conducted from the 6th of January to the 20th of January(first attempt)/April(Second attempt)  while the B.Arch. [Paper II] will be conducted on 8th of January (in two shifts).

The national level engineering college entrance exam will be conducted biannually (twice a year) – i.e., in January and April in online mode as Computer-based Examination. Candidates have the option of attempting the in either session or in both as well. JEE Mains Score and Ranking determine admissions to various courses in participating NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs though Central Seat Allocation Board. Those qualifying the Mains can appear for JEE Advanced exam which determines admissions to 23 IITs based on All India Ranking.

January Session of JEE Main 2019

The NTA has released the final exam centre, date and shift (slot) allocation for the JEE Main 2019 (January session). It can be accessed by all successfully registered candidates by logging on to the Official NTA website – You will need to enter the NTA Registration ID/Number and Password t0 access the examination timing/venue details.

JEE Mains Admit Card are expected to be released as per schedule on the 17th of December 2018. They will be available for download on the JEE Main or NTA Page on logging in.

JEE Mains 2019 Exam Date

From 2019, the NTA will be conducting the JEE Mains paper in two sessions, January and April. Candidates can appear for either or both the attempts. The first attempt is scheduled from 6th January to 20th January 2019. The second attempt will take place between 6th April to 20th April 2019. You can find information about schedule, status and important dates for each attempt in the sections below.

January Session

The January attempt is scheduled for 6th to 20th January for the Paper I (B.Tech./B.E.) and will be conducted on the 8th of January for the Paper II (B.Arch.). The public notice for JEE (Main) Examination City, Date and Shift has been declared on NTA website. Candidates can access this using Application Number for JEE Main and Password. Admit Card for Jan session will be available for online download from 17th December 2018.

JEE Mains 2019 Registration

JEE main is a very competitive and sought-after examination. All the students work very hard to be able to crack JEE main and be admitted into a reputed engineering college.   • Visit the JEE main or NTA website
  • Click on the ‘apply for JEE main 2019’ tab
  • Fill in the details required and asked to complete the authentication process
  • Scan and upload the documents that are asked. The candidates who have unclear photographs will not be accepted.
  • The reserved categories need to upload their reservation certificate as well.
  • The candidates are advised to keep 5-8 copies of the same photograph that is uploaded for the time of the examination.
  • The candidates will then be required to proceed to the online payment portals.

JEE Mains 2019 Exam Pattern

JEE Mains 2019 will be conducted for admission to UG courses for Engineering and Architecture. The Paper I (B.E./B.Tech.) and the Paper II (B.Arch) will have different components being tested. The exam is of 3 hours duration and will be conducted in English, Hindi as well as other regional languages.

JEE Mains 2019 Syllabus

Syllabus for Paper I [B.Tech/B.E.]

The Paper-I of JEE Mains has 3 subjects under it – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each subject has equal weightage and the paper is totally for 360 marks. The NTA has notified of the syllabus under each section for JEE Mains 2019 in the official information bulletin.

Physics section will have 2 sections – Section A and Section B. Section A will consist of theory portion (80% weightage) and Section B will consist of questions based to test Experimental skills (20% weightage).

JEE Mains 2019 Admit Card

NTA is scheduled to release JEE Mains Admit Card 2019 for January session available for download on 17th of December 2019. The NTA will make JEE Main Admit Card 2019 available in online mode only. Admit Card will contain details like name, exam centre and address, admit card number, roll number and application number, timing of examination and paper being appeared for.

To download JEE Main 2019 admit card candidates will need to log-in to their account using their application number, password and security pin. On viewing admit card, verify all details before downloading it. Make sure to download and print multiple copies as you must carry Admit Card to the Exam venue on the examination day – without Admit Card of JEE Mains, candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. Along with the admit card, candidate will be required to carry a valid photo Identity proof to the exam centre.

JEE Mains 2019 Result

Result For January Session to be declared on January 31, 2019

NTA will release the JEE Mains 2019 January session result online on the official NTA website i.e. as well as on the JEE Mains website Normalization of marks will be done to maintain equality between candidates appearing in separate shifts.

The January result will not be treated as the final qualification as combined Merit List for January and April session will be released on 30th April. This list will contain the AIR rankings and candidate score after normalization. Normalization procedure based on percentile score will be used for preparing Merit List.

The Mains result will determine eligibility to appear for JEE Advanced Exam (for admission to IITs). In case a candidate appears for both January and April attempts, the best score out of the two attempts will be considered while preparing Final Merit List.

JEE Mains Cutoff

National Testing Agency will release the cut off for JEE Main 2019 separately for the two session (January and April). CBSE will no longer be conducting the exam nor release the results and cutoffs. With the proclamation of JEE mains results and AIR, NTA will also been publishing percentile score.

JEE Main Cutoff is evaluated based on a number of factors. JAB (Joint Admission Board) has already declared from JEE Main 2017 onwards that class 12th marks will not be for calculating All India Ranks in JEE Main. This implies the meaning that candidates need to perform even better in the entrance for securing a good rank in JEE mains 2019.
