The primary trend observed over the past five years is the consistent increase in the average salary offered during the placement season. In 2017, the average salary was approximately 11.41 lakh per annum, subsequently increasing to approximately 18.5 lakh per annum in 2018 and around 10.34 lakh per annum in 2019.
Over the past six years, there has been a steady increase in the number of jobs offered during the IIT Bombay placement season. In 2017, approximately 1,114 job offers were made, which subsequently increased to 1,122 in 2018 and 1,319 in 2019. In 2020, the number of job offers was not revealed, but the trend picked up again in 2021 with 1,878 offers made. However, the number of job offers decreased slightly to 1,500 in 2023. The number of recruiters has also seen a fluctuating trend, with the highest number of recruiters recorded in 2018 at 361.
