The cut off of the test conducted for that particular year is decided by the authorities of the TISSNET who conduct the test. The cut off is decided only after the results are published. Candidates are then finally selected based on many other criteria even after clearing the entrance exam, personal interview and group discussion rounds. These criteria include the work experience if any, academic records, the profile etc.

The cut off varies every year, depending upon various factors such as the difficulty level of the entrance test of that year, the total number of the candidates who applied for the test and also the number of seats available in each of the campus available.
