XAT 2020 Exam Information

What is XAT?
XAT is a notable B-School Entrance examination. It is conducted in the form of a Computer based Test (CBT). The XAT score is being accepted by more than 150 institutes and B-Schools for the admission to their management programmes. In 2019, XAT will be conducted on 6th January, 2019.

Who conducts XAT?
Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) conducts XAT on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). For over 55 years XLRI is conducting XAT at the All-India scale to select the most appropriate students for management education.

XAT 2020 Exam Date

Xavier’s Aptitude Test or XAT is the common exam for all MBA courses in Xavier’s institutes. It is conducted by Xavier’s Labour Research Institute or XLRI. The XAT scores are accepted in more than 150 institutes for admission to their MBA programmes. XAT has been conducted for more than 60 years by XLRI on behalf of XAMI. XAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is nationwide management aptitude test. It is held by Xavier School of Management. They conduct the exam on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). The scores attained by students are used by more than 800 institutes for admission to MBA, PGDM and other management courses. XLRI is conducting XAT from over 60 years. The mode of this examination is Online. About 90,000 students appear for the exam every year.

The eligibility criteria of XAT is given a lot of importance as only the candidates who fulfill all the eligibility criteria are permitted to fill the application form of XAT. A candidate’s application form may get forbidden at any point of the admission process if the candidate has been found putting wrong information or found ineligible.

XAT 2019 Exam Pattern – It was a three-hour test divided into four sections. The exam had questions from GK, DI, Decision Making, QA, and Verbal & Logical Ability. XAT 2019 was conducted on January 6, 2019, between 10 AM to 1 PM.

The Basic eligibility criteria are as follows:

Nationality -Candidates with Indian nationality can apply for XAT.

-NRI & foreign candidates can too apply for the exam.

-Foreign nationals can too apply through GMAT score (except in Dubai & Kathmandu where XAT is conducted).

Age Criteria -There is no upper or lower age limit defined.
Education -A 3-year graduation degree is the minimum requirement.

-All backlogs should be cleared before admission through XAT is done.

-Students with PG degree is required to put their PG percentage in application form instead of graduation percentage.

Number of Attempts -There is no limit on the number of attempts a candidate takes.

XAT 2020 Registration

Registration and application process for XAT 2020 will be conducted online via the official website. The general process is as listed below:

  • Candidates must visit the XAT website – www.xatonline.in to register for the exam
  • Candidates would need to enter their basic information like name and contact details.
  • Then, they will receive the login credentials through which they have to log in to the website and complete the XAT 2019 application process.
  • To complete the application process, candidates would need to enter the personal details, academic details, and professional details.
  • Then select XLRI programmes (optional) being applied to
  • Upload photograph and signature.
  • The final step is paying the application fee.

Here are some instructions for the registration process:

  • Once you complete filling the Basic Information a system generated XAT ID and password will be forwarded to you through Email / SMS.

Successful Registration is indicated by the Page displayed after clicking the Submit Button indicating the generated “XAT ID”. Candidate must note down the same carefully. If you do not preserve it, you will not be able to Re-Print the Application and download the Admit Card.

  • Please quote your email (provided during the registration) and XAT ID for all future communication
  • Provide a valid email address and mobile number.
  • Note that the XAT ID and password gives you an individual login to www.xatonline.in You should occasionally check for mails from XAT & other associated institutes.

XAT Fee and Payment

XAT Registration Fee (without late fee) – Rs. 1700/-
Candidates interested in XLRI programmes needs to pay an additional fee of Rs. 300/- each.

XAT Registration Fee (with late fee) – Rs. 2000/-
Candidates interested in XLRI programmes needs to pay an additional fee of Rs. 500/- each.

XAT 2020 Exam Pattern

XAT examinations are a nation-wide examination held by the XLRI institutes of management. The exam is mainly for all participating institutions under the XLRI affiliation. The exam is a computer-based examination that was held in the month of January dated 6th of this year. The XAT admit card was released in the date of 22nd December 2018.

The registration process was scheduled for August 2018 and was stretched till the end of the month of November. To be able to qualify for the examination process the candidate should have a graduation degree in any sphere of education.  The scores from the XAT examination will be accepted by XLRI Jamshedpur along with the fellow affiliated institutions as well as other one other 150 business schools that accept XAT scores.

Preparation tips:

  • The exam pattern of XAT keeps changing year after year and hence determining the exact variable of each section is a bit difficult, so students should concentrate on parts they know.
  • Try finishing preparing all the sections covered in the paper in a stipulated time period.
  • Try doing the aptitude and the reasoning areas well.
  • Read papers and books to get a better hold of the language since there are a lot of twisted questions that come your way.
  • Apart from that give a timely revision to each section.
  • Go back to reading the previous papers properly in case you feel that solving mocks will make it easier for you to work on the preparation.
  • Remember that CAT and XAT are relatively different and need different preparation processes in order to get a hang to it.

XAT 2020 Admit Card

XLRI conducts the XAT exams every year to admit students who are interested in doing MBA. The XAT exams were taken by around 90,000 candidates last year. The admit card for the year 2020 has been made available for those candidates who have successfully registered themselves and paid for the application fee to attend this exam. Candidates should download their respective admit card before the last date.

Steps to download admit card

  • Click on the link that says admit card 2020.
  • Candidates will be required to enter XAT 2020 registration ID and password.
  • Click the login option to submit the details that you have entered.
  • If your credentials are accurate, a new webpage will appear on your screen.
  • Click on the hall ticket tab.
  • An option to download your admit card will pop up on the screen.
  • Download and print the admit card before appearing for the exams.

Note the following additional points:

  • Candidates must carry a hard copy format admit card. Print only on A4 size and it should be in good condition on the exam day.
  • If you forgot your ID, recover it from application confirmation page or auto E-mail sent during registration.
  • If you forgot your password, click on the forgot password option in the login webpage. The details required for the recovery are your ID, mobile number and Email ID in order to regain your password.
  • On the examination day, your invigilator will verify the details that match the admit card and compare it to the details on application form. Hence, verify at the earliest if all the details are correct.

The XAT Scorecard has been released on 16th Jan’2019.

  • The XAT Score is valid for one year only.
  • Institutes accepting XAT-scores, will release specific cutoff after the declaration of result.
  • Shortlisted candidates will then proceed to further selection stages (Group Discussion, Personal Interview or Written Ability Test).
