IBSAT 2018 Exam Information

This test is conducted through online mode by The ICFAI foundation for higher education which is a deemed university recognized under section 3 of University Grants Commission Act, 1956. It is conducted at the national level across 95 centers. This would ensure that the students from different regions of the country to give the exam with much ease.

IBSAT 2018 Exam Date

Candidates have to pass through three levels to get admission in the college. The first level consists of an objective test with of 140 questions. Those who are clearing this test will be selected for group discussion and personal interview. The final list will be prepared on the basis of performance of students at all these tests. Dates of all these will be announced prior.

It is a general tendency among the candidates not to keep track of the important dates when they are having their focus completely on preparation. This should be avoided as it would cost you, dear, if you fail to remember those dates. All your hard work would become useless if you miss any deadline.  There are also chances that the exam dates may get changed due to an emergency. Therefore, it is important to check the dates as and when required.

Keeping track of the course of events in the exam has another advantage too. It helps you in planning your preparation strategy without any stress. It also helps you in filling the application form with more attention. Last minute filing of the application form may lead to a lot of errors which you cannot rectify later. IBSAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to satisfy the eligibility conditions for appearing in this exam. Otherwise, their candidature will be canceled. Eligibility conditions are given based on the age, a number of attempts, education etc. Candidates should remember to go through every detail of the eligibility. Even if you are not eligible based on any one condition, you will not be allowed to appear in the exam. The eligibility conditions are mentioned in the following sections.

Educational Qualifications for MBA

 

Basic education

·       Students appearing for the exam should have completed at least 15 years of education. This is subcategorised as 12 years of school education and 3 or 4 years of graduation.

·       Candidates who are currently in their final year of graduation are also eligible for appearing in this test.

·       There is no restriction on the field of graduation. Candidates from any discipline can apply for this test.

·       The medium of instruction should be in English

 

 

Minimum marks ·       Students should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks as calculated by any recognised university

 

Special condition to be satisfied by those who did not have English as their medium of education in graduation ·       It is mandatory for them to submit the TOEFL or NELT or IELTS score before 31st May 2019
Conditions for those in final year of their graduation ·       It is essential for them to complete all the requirements of their graduation latest by 31st May 2019

·       This also includes the practical assessment tests, assignments, viva etc

·       It is also imperative to submit the proof of their graduation before 1st November 2019

IBSAT 2018 Registration

Filling of the application form is the first and foremost step in any examination process and it has to be done with due care. It is suggested to fill it within a few days of its release to avoid the last-minute rush. Moreover, the application form submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. The application form will be released on the official website of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education. Candidates can do their registration process in two ways: Online and Offline mode.

Application process for online mode

Candidates can submit their application process online by following the steps given below

  • Get into the official website of IBS. To complete the registration process, select ‘Apply to IBS’ given on the website. You have to fill all your personal details in the form. This has to be done with proper attention as the information cannot be changed once it is entered.
  • After the completion of the process, you will get a registration id and password. These two things are needed for completing the application form.
  • Using registration id and password, get into the application form of application form of IBSAT 2018.
  • Fill all the details that include Candidate’s name, gender, date of birth and address. You need to select the test center too. Try to select the test center in your hometown itself if the options are available for it. This would help in having a hassle-free examination process. It is important to check once before giving the final submission.
  •  Once you have done the cross-verification, select ‘submit’ for the final submission

IBSAT 2018 Exam Pattern

The exam is conducted through online mode only. There will be a total of 140 questions with each question carrying one mark. There is no negative marking. The questions asked will be having the multiple choices and candidates have to select the right option from them. They are objective in nature. There is no sectional cut-off. The medium of the exam is English. If we have the idea of the pattern, we will be able to know the areas where we should concentrate. This will make our preparation more comprehensive. The total number of questions asked under each subject category is mentioned in the table given below

Preparation tips

  • Candidates should start their preparation as early as possible depending on their level of understanding of the subjects. Last-minute preparation will never help you get the required score.
  • It is important to analyze the syllabus well before starting the preparation. This helps in finding the areas of your strength and weakness and have our focus accordingly. Do a proper revision of the areas in which you are strong and then start with the weakest areas.
  • Candidates having a better understanding of the concepts would be able to solve the questions irrespective of its difficulty level. Rather than going for superficial studies, it is necessary to do a thorough analysis of the concepts.
  • Practice as many question papers as possible. This would help in increasing the speed and the level of accuracy.

There is no specific syllabus for IBSAT as ICFAI foundation did not release any official syllabus for it. But, this would not be an issue. Since we know the exam pattern, we can prepare accordingly. IBSAT 2018 Admit Card

Admit card will be released on the official website of IBS by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education. It is usually published at least one week before the exam and candidates will be getting their admit card only through online mode. It will not be sent through the post. Admit cards will be released only for those who have completed registration successfully. Admit card can be downloaded from the website by using Date of birth and Application number.

It is important to download the admit card once it is released to avoid the last minute rush. Admit card for IBSAT 2018 will be released on the third week of December. The test is conducted for two days in around 94 centers. Details regarding the centers are given in the table mentioned below:

IBSAT 2018 Result

Results of this exam will be declared within 15 days. The results of IBSAT 2018 will be released in the 1st week of January 2018 as the selection brief has to start on 13th January 2019. The results will be available on the official website and check once it is released. It is important to know the application number and password for knowing your results. Once you log in to the website, you will be finding a pdf containing the names of the people who have got selected. It is essential to keep the list for further reference in the future.

Selection of the candidates is done solely on the marks scored by them in the exam and the merit list is prepared accordingly. Candidates have to score a certain cut-off to qualify in the examination. The candidates who have got selected will be appearing for group discussion and personal interview.

After the declaration of the results, candidates will be called for the selection briefings. Selection briefings for IBSAT 2018 will take place from 13th January 2019 to 20th January 2019. Under this process, the authorities will be giving the selected applicants the idea of various programs and activities that will be carried out by IBS. These selection briefings will occur across 40 locations in the country.

IBSAT Cutoff

Selection of the candidates to group discussion and interview are done based on cut-offs. Cut-off will be different for different business schools. So, the candidates should work hard to secure a seat in the school which requires higher cut-offs. The cut-offs are decided based on the factors such as lowest and average marks scored by the candidates in the exam, a total number of candidates, reservation policy of the institute, previous year cut-off trends, level of difficulty of the exam etc.

Cut-offs for a particular year can be checked in the official website itself. There will be a link ‘IBSAT Cut-offs’. Press the link. You need to give your roll number, form number, and date of the test. In the page that appears subsequently, you can find the cut-offs for different colleges. You have to check the marks and apply to colleges accordingly.
