About IBSAT

The ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test (IBSAT) is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad for admission to MBA and PGPM programmes offered by 9 ICFAI Business School (IBS) campuses across India. The exam is conducted once a year in online remote-proctored mode , comprises 140 MCQs to be completed in 120 minutes , and has no negative marking .

IBSAT 2026 dates — is it still the last week of December?
I’ve seen 26–27 December mentioned for IBSAT 2026. Can anyone confirm from the official site? Also, is it one attempt only or can we pick a slot across the two days?

Does IBS Hyderabad give an MBA degree or a PGPM? Is it different at other campuses?
My daughter is applying. I understand IBS Hyderabad is part of IFHE, a deemed university. Is the qualification an MBA degree there, and what do the other campuses award?

What does the IBS selection round involve now — GD, PI or a presentation?
Got shortlisted. Can someone who went through it last year describe the format? I’ve heard of a ‘micro presentation’ — how does that work?

Averages don’t tell the full story with large batches. How did it go for you and your friends? Was the process fair across the batch?

What IBSAT score do you need for an IBS scholarship?
I read there are around 500 scholarships of ₹2 lakh each. Is it purely IBSAT-rank based, or do academics count too?

IBS Hyderabad MBA total fee — does it include hostel?
I’ve seen ₹17 lakh quoted for the MBA. Is hostel and mess extra? Are fees paid in instalments?

Big batch B-schools: more recruiters or more competition for the same roles?
IBS has a large batch across campuses. Does a big batch attract more recruiters, or do students end up competing harder for the good roles? Keen to hear from IBS grads.

How is IBSAT different from CAT? Is there negative marking?
Never attempted IBSAT. Can someone explain the sections and whether there’s negative marking? Want to plan practice properly.

The address says Donthanapally, Shankarpalli Road. How do students get to the city — shuttles, cabs? Does distance affect internships?

Is 52% in graduation enough for IBS?
Barely above 50%. Will I be eligible, and will the lower score hurt me at the interview stage?

Is a ₹17 lakh MBA worth it when medians are around ₹9-10 LPA?
Not bashing any school, just doing the maths. With NIRF-reported median around ₹9 LPA, how long does repayment realistically take? Would love to hear from IBS alumni who took loans.
