XAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is nationwide management aptitude test. It is held by Xavier School of Management. They conduct the exam on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). The scores attained by students are used by more than 800 institutes for admission to MBA, PGDM and other management courses. XLRI is conducting XAT from over 60 years. The mode of this examination is Online. About 90,000 students appear for the exam every year.

The eligibility criteria of XAT is given a lot of importance as only the candidates who fulfill all the eligibility criteria are permitted to fill the application form of XAT. A candidate’s application form may get forbidden at any point of the admission process if the candidate has been found putting wrong information or found ineligible.

XAT 2020 Exam Pattern – It will be a three-hour test divided into four sections. The exam have questions from GK, DI, Decision Making, QA, and Verbal & Logical Ability. XAT 2020 will be conduct on first Sunday of January 2020, between 10 AM to 1 PM.

The Basic eligibility criteria are as follows:

Nationality -Candidates with Indian nationality can apply for XAT.

-NRI & foreign candidates can too apply for the exam.

-Foreign nationals can too apply through GMAT score (except in Dubai & Kathmandu where XAT is conducted).

Age Criteria -There is no upper or lower age limit defined.
Education -A 3-year graduation degree is the minimum requirement.

-All backlogs should be cleared before admission through XAT is done.

-Students with PG degree is required to put their PG percentage in application form instead of graduation percentage.

Number of Attempts -There is no limit on the number of attempts a candidate takes.

Eligibility Criteria based on the Programs offered by XLRI:

Human Resource Management -A minimum 3-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute.

-NRI and foreign candidates can too apply through GMAT.

-Students in final year of examination can also apply if their result will be declared by a date mentioned.

Business Management -A bachelor’s degree of 3 years in any stream.

-NRI and foreign students can apply through GMAT.

-Students in final year of examination can apply but the result must be declared by a date mentioned.

General Management programs (PGDM) -A bachelor’s degree of 3 years in any stream.

-Managerial/supervisory experience of 5 years.

-XAT score and GMAT score will be considered

Business Management Program (Part-Time) – A bachelor’s degree of 3 years in any stream.

– The bachelor’s degree should be from any of the universities incorporated with an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or possess an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE.

XAT Eligibility criteria for International Candidates:

NRI -They must have not been a resident of India in nine out of ten preceding years.

-They should have not been in India for a period of 730 days or more during the preceding seven years.

Persons of Indian Origin -It means a person having foreign citizenship without “NRI” status, but who holds a Foreign Passport at the time of sending application, consideration for admission and during the period of his study and he/she or anyone/ both of their parents or anyone / both of his /her grandparents is (or was) / are (or were) citizen (s) of India by virtue of the Constitution of India.
Foreign National -An individual having citizenship of a foreign country (citizens of all countries other than India) and not having the status of “NRI” and/or “Persons of Indian Origin”.
