GATE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for GATE 2020, candidates must meet certain academic qualifications. It is required that candidates hold certain degree/or are enrolled in a certain degree course having completed certain number of years. (For most courses this is either bachelors degree completion or final year).

The following degree holders are eligible for appearing for GATE exam, subject to conditions enumerated in the following image.

  • B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm.
  • B. Arch.
  • B.Sc. (Research)/ B.S.
  • Pharm. D. (after 10+2)
  • M. Sc./ M.A./MCA
  • Int. M.E./ M.Tech. (Post-B.Sc.)
  • Int. M.E./M.Tech. or Dual Degree (after 10+2 or Diploma)
  • Int. M.Sc./ Int. B.S.-M.S.
  • Professional Society Examinations – Exams conducted by The Institution of Engineers (India), The Institution of Civil Engineers, The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, The Aeronautical Society of India, The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, including Polymer and Environmental Group, The Indian Institute of Metals, The Indian Institute of Industrial Engineers (only if these exams are equivalent to B.E./B.Tech./B. Arch.)
