About College

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation to help professionalise the country’s foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources, analysing and disseminating data and conducting research.

The Institute’s portfolio of long-term programmes is diverse, catering to the requirements of aspiring International Business executives and mid-career professionals alike. These are

  • Two-year MBA (International Business), New Delhi, Kolkata, and Dar-es-Salaam
  • Three-year MBA (International Business) (Part-Time), New Delhi and Kolkata
  • Executive Masters in International Business, New Delhi
  • Certificate Programme in Export Management, New Delhi


Eligibility for MBA(IB):

  • Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years’ duration in any discipline. Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply.
  • Selection Process – Written test, Essay write-up, Group Discussion and Interview. For foreign candidates, admission is made by GMAT scores.

Eligibility for Executive PG Diploma Courses:

  • PG Degree/Engineering Degree or equivalent with managerial work experience of 3 years or a Graduate degree with administrative work experience of 5 years
  • Selection Process – Qualifying Degree merit

Eligibility for M.A Economics & PhD:

  • BA/B.Sc in Economics with at least 50% marks.
  • for Ph.D – Master’s degree/M.Phil degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks
  • Selection Process – Written Test + Personal Interview

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi completed its placement drives for 2017. The drive was a huge success this year as there were four students who grabbed Rs 1 crore-plus packages. The domestic package went up by 21% i.e., Rs 29 lakh per annum. Living up to its reputation IIFT achieved 100% placement at the B-school, the average package was Rs 18.01 lakh.

Infrastructure and Facilities


One of the largest of its kind in the developing world, with a holding of around 84,000 volumes and subscriptions to 800 journals with complete online cataloguing, the IIFT Library is a veritable storehouse of information.

the Library has a unique collection of publications of FAO, IMF, OECD, UNCTAD, UNCTC, World Bank, and other international agencies.

IIFT has set up the WTO Resource Centre in the Library to focus exclusively on WTO issues.

Besides the main Library, there is a Library-cum-Reading Room open round-the-clock, situated in the hostel.

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel life is an essential part of one’s journey at IIFT. With over 60 students staying at our newly developed hostel at C9, the atmosphere of learning and having fun while waiting at IIFT is unmatched. There is a separate mess facility at C9, and seating space for all students.

Computer Facilities:

Recognising the importance of technology in education, IIFTs Computer Centre has implemented the latest state of the art IT infrastructure. IIFT uses IT to provide a competitive advantage in its core areas of teaching and research.
