About College

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), established in 1963 was established by the Government of India. It was set up as an autonomous organization to provide professional education in foreign trade management.

The main focus of this institution is to serve the trading needs of the government by educating the students in trade laws and management methods. The main branch is in New Delhi and there is a subsidiary branch, which is in Kolkata.

The institute specializes in the study of trade and management and it offers an MBA programme in international business. It has a large array of executive courses, which are provided for bachelors with professional work experience.

Candidates want to opt for shorter courses can apply for their postgraduate certificate courses. They also provide two doctoral courses for candidates wanting to be a research scholar. There are numerous online and training courses which the candidates can apply for.

IIFT is one of the best Government institutions for higher management studies. It has been accredited from NAAC as an “A” Grade institution. It has affiliations with many reputed international corporations.

The college specializes in foreign trade and offers an MBA programme in International Business, which is available both full time and part-time for executives. The college offers many executive postgraduate diplomas to executives who have worked before or are currently working.

One can also undertake certificate courses in various specializations. PhD programmes in Management and Economics are also available for candidates looking for doctorate degrees. The college has recently launched an MA programme in Economics.

MBA in International Business Graduation degree from a recognised university along with a valid CAT or GMAT score 15.20 Lakhs
Weekend MBA in International Business Working graduates from a recognised university with at least 3 years of work experience 7.50 Lakhs
Executive Post Graduate Diploma Programme Candidates must have a graduation degree with 50% marks and work experience ranging from 3 to 5 years 3.50 Lakhs To 5.10 Lakhs

IIFT Admission Process

Admission process in IIFT is based on the IIFT admission test that is held by the institution. A further round of personal interview and group activities of the shortlisted candidates is conducted to select the students for admission.

An essay writing test is also held to test the abilities of the candidates. All NRI candidates need to appear for GMAT and score above the cutoff marks to get shortlisted.

  • For full-time residential MBA programmes, candidates are shortlisted on the marks scored in the college entrance examination and GD/PI round.
  • For Executive MBA, the candidates need to pass GD/PI round and should have work experience to get selected.
  • For the executive postgraduate diploma programmes, candidates need to produce academic and professional records to get shortlisted and pass the GD/PI round to get selected.
  • For the certificate programmes, candidates should have work experience and should pass the interview. IIFT result mainly depends on this stage.
  • For the PhD programmes in Management and Economics, candidates need to pass the IIFT exam pattern or entrance examination and appear for the interview to get selected.

IIFT Placements

The placement activities are managed by the placement committee of IIFT. Through the years of its inception, IIFT Delhi has been able to achieve 100% placement success to date.

In the batch of 2019, the highest salary package grabbed was one crore per annum. 98 companies participated in the placement drive to place the students of IIFT. Some of the popular recruiters were Godrej, TCS, TATA, Flipkart etc.

IIFT Results and cutoff:

The selection of the students into IIFT is done on the basis of the IIFT exam. The candidates scoring above the cutoff and doing good on the sectional cutoff are selected for admission. The expected cutoff for the year 2019 is 33-36 marks out of 100. NRI students have to score well in the GMAT exam to be selected for the courses.

IIFT Scholarships:

IIFT is one of the premier business institutes in the nation, established by the Government of India. It provides financial aid to the students who take admission in the college.

Some of the scholarships that IIFT accepts are Sir Ratan Tata Scholarship, EXIM Bank Scholarship to SC/ ST scholarship, Dun & Bradstreet Gold Medal and Sumitra Chisti Memorial Award.

The college also provides financial help to those who don’t have the means by providing education loans from some selected banks at lower interest rates. Fellowships are awarded to PhD students.
