About College

On September 4th, 1978, Anna University Chennai was founded. C.N. Annadurai, the university's founder, was at the time Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister. In 2001, it underwent conversion to become a member institution.

Under Anna University, there are several Constituent Colleges, Regional Campuses, and Affiliated Colleges. The institution offers a wide variety of UG, PG, and doctorate academic courses. The university is ranked 85th out of all universities by the BRICS countries.

With a 3.46 cumulative grade point average and an "A," NAAC has reaccredited the university. According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework, the university was rated 10th in the nation in 2018.

The College of Engineering (Guindy Campus), the Madras Institute of Technology (Chrompet Campus), the Alagappa College of Technology, and the School of Architecture and Planning are the four university departments.
