NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2024

The eligibility criteria of NEET 2024 states that the minimum requirement of candidates in order to appear for the exam. The regulations are formulated as per the regulations on graduate medical education (1997). The following points will help the participating candidates with the NEET eligibility criteria 2024 in terms of nationality, age limit, educational qualification and attempts limit:

Nationality Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) And Person with Indian Origins (PIO)s are eligible to appear for NEET.
Age limit The minimum age limit is 17 and the maximum is 25 for open category candidates and 30 for reserved category.
Educational Qualifications Candidates have to score at least 50% as an aggregate mark in physics chemistry and biology. In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50%.
Marks for General Candidates A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., 12th Standard in 2018, whose result is awaited, may apply and take up the said test but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS or BDS, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of Counselling.
Number of Attempts While there is no particular restriction on the number of attempts it is mandatory that the candidate will satisfy rest all of the criteria.
Mode of submission of Application form The relevant required information such as father or mother and candidates correct spellings AADHAR number bank account number or a valid identity card date of birth all the contact details which will be required should be kept ready. In case of foreign nationals’ passport number should be kept at hand. Every candidate should have the latest photograph of his or her with signature in jpg format only. The application will be online, and no offline application will be entertained.
Payment of the Fees 3.1     The payment of the feast should be made by online credit or debit card net banking or e-wallet service providers. Confirmation page or a receipt will be generated after successful payment if there is no such generation that means the form has not been successfully submitted.
State Eligibility Students from State of J & K are NOT ELIGIBLE for 15% all India quota seats as State of J&K has opted out of All India Scheme since its inception. If they claim eligibility, they must submit online Self Declaration which will be generated and printed automatically along with confirmation page for the record and to present during counselling.
  The Government of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana vide their letter no.13021/C1/2016 dated 06.11.2017 & letter no.7072/C1/2017 dated 07.11.2017 respectively have informed that Government of Andhra Pradesh and Government of Telangana have decided to join and contribute to the All India Quota seats. Accordingly, the candidates of these States have also become eligible for 15% All India Quota seats.
