About College

Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. In Urdu language, Jamia means ‘University’, and Millia means ‘National’.The university became a central public university in the year 1988, by an act of  the Indian parliament.

The university is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grants Commission (UGC). It is also accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ grade.

The university offers education in large number of fields from undergraduate to doctoral courses in various  fields of science, arts, engineering, management, law, medical, commerce, nursing and foreign languages.
