Admissions to Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) in 2024

The schedule for the PhD admission entrance test for the academic year 2023-24 has been announced by Jamia Millia Islamia. The PhD Admission Test is scheduled to take place on December 16, 17, and 18, 2023.

Jamia Millia Islamia provides admission opportunities for over 200 courses encompassing various fields such as engineering, humanities, social sciences, law, education, and management. Popular courses offered by JMI include BTech, BA, B.Sc, MA, M.Tech, MBA, M.Sc, and PhD. The JMI New Delhi course admissions primarily relies on the university’s entrance examination. Additionally, JMI accepts national-level entrance exams like JEE Main, NATA, CUET, and NEET for specific programs like BTech, B.Arch, BA/B.Sc/B.Voc, and BDS.

JMI New Delhi course admissions 2024 for Undergraduates

JMI provides a variety of specialties in BA, B.Sc, B.BA, B.Com, BTTM, BFA, BA-LL.B, B.Ed, and B.Li.I.Sc courses. The minimal requirement for eligibility is 10+2 from an accredited board. Candidates must fulfil the following categories Category 1: Students who have already obtained NSQF Level 4 certification in the Solar Energy Category 2: Students who have earned an NSQF Level 4 certification but want to change careers and had done a Vocational course in Solar Energy. Students who have passed a 10+2 level test (or equivalent) but have no prior experience with vocational training fall into category 3. Such students must have received at least 50% in their 10+2 classes. Furthermore, students must have completed 10+2 (or equivalent) level physics and mathematics.

JMI New Delhi Admission Criteria for Non-CUET Based Program:

The following prerequisites must be met in order to be admitted to Jamia Millia Islamia’s UG programmes:

  • Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with at least a 50 percent overall grade from a recognised board of education in order to be admitted to BA, BBA, B.Voc, B.Com, or BFA.
  • Candidates must have at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or institution in order to be admitted to the B.Lib.Sc. and B.Ed. programmes.
  • Candidates must obtain a Senior Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent test from a recognised board with at least a 45 percent aggregate in their top five papers in order to be admitted to the BHM programme.

UG admissions requirements at Jamia Millia Islamia

The results of the Common University Entrance Test will be used to select students for the BA (Hons) Hindi, BA (Hons) Sanskrit, BA (Hons) French and Francophone Studies, BA (Hons) Spanish and Latin American Studies, BA (Hons) Economics, BA (Hons) History, BSc in Biotechnology, BVoc (Solar Energy), BSc (Hons) Physics, and BA (Hons) Turkish Language & (CUET). While registering for the CUET, candidates must select the subjects that are listed in the qualifying requirements.

The JMI admission exam will be used to determine who gets into the remaining courses.

Jamia Millia Islamia Undergraduate Admissions Procedure

The actions listed below must be followed by applicants for CUET-based courses in order to apply for the CUET:

Candidates should visit the CUET’s official website as their first step.

Step II: Click Register in the top right corner.

Step III: Complete the necessary information, which will include both fundamental and private data.

Step IV: Verify again the veracity of the data you submitted on the application form. Edit the application form if any of the information is inaccurate.

Step V: Choose the University and Program from the drop-down option.

Step VI: Pick your CUET test topic or paper (s).

Step VII: Complete the language for the CUET exam.

Step VIII: To get assigned to the CUET exam site closest to you, select a preferred city.

JMI New Delhi Course Admissions 2024 for B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Sc, BPT, and BDS

JMI provides full-time B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes lasting four and five years in a variety of subject areas. Candidates must have received at least a 55 percent overall grade in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their 10+2 diploma.

JMI also provides B.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hons) degrees in a range of subject areas. To be considered for admission, candidates must meet the requirements for eligibility. JMI Entrance Test will be used as the foundation for admission.

Selection Process

B.Tech. and B.Arch.

B.Tech. and B.Arch. selection procedures Candidates are chosen for B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes based on their JEE Main rank and/or marks. Candidates who wish to enrol in B.Tech. programmes must take the JEE (Main) Paper 1 exam. An applicant must take the JEE (Main) Paper 2 test in order to be admitted to B.Arch. programmes.

  • The test consists of Paper – 1 (for B.Tech.) and Paper – 2 (for B.Arch.)
  • Both papers are for 3 hours.
  • They will consist of 30 MCQ’s each.
  • 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
  • A deduction of 1 mark will be done for each incorrect answer.
  • The allotment of seats will be according to JMI’s Admission Procedure. The reservation of seats and merit will be solely based on rank obtained in JEE (Main). 
  • The selected candidates will be given a date to appear for the admission formalities. These candidates are required to bring self-attested copies of JMI’s Acknowledgement Slip, Registration Slip, JEE (Main) Admit Card, and JEE (Main) Score Card along with the following documents:
    • 10+2 or equivalent exam’s Marksheet
    • Age proof (High School/Senior Secondary School’s Marksheet)
    • Proof of entitlement to any reserved category (if applicable)
    • Character Certificate from the last attended institute
    • Certificate from M.B.B.S. doctor/Govt. Hospital certifying blood group
    • In case of gap period, a certificate from class –1 gazetted officer to certify no indulgence in criminal behavior
    • Proof of address along with name and location of the nearest police station
    • Fees for the first year can be paid by cash, online, or demand draft.

JMI New Delhi Course Admissions for B.P.T., B.Sc., BA LLB, and B.D.S.

The candidate’s ranking or score in an entrance exam administered by JMI (for B.P.T. and B.Sc.) and NEET will determine their selection (for B.D.S.)

The JMI website will present the lists of candidates who have been provisionally chosen and those who are on the waiting list for admission.

On the official JMI website, the list of applicants chosen for the interview will be shown in descending order of their entrance test roll numbers.

On the official website, they will receive a date to present for the admission formalities.

JMI New Delhi course admissions for Postgraduate Programmes 2024

JMI provides full-time M.Tech., MBA, MCA, and M.Arch. programmes.

The BE/B.Tech degree in the pertinent discipline is the minimal requirement for M.Tech candidacy. For M.Arch courses, a B.Arch is the minimum requirement, while an MBA or MCA requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

To be admitted, students must receive a passing score on the JMI Entrance exam.

JMI New Delhi Course Admissions to M.Phil./Ph.D. 2024

Admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes is determined by a candidate’s performance in a written test administered by JMI, which is followed by an interview and a review of their research proposal. The minimal requirement for admission is a master’s degree with a relevant subject GPA of 55%.

Candidates who have passed the M.Phil exam or the UGC/CSIR (JRF)/GATE/SLET entrance test are exempt from the Ph.D. entrance exam. Holders of Teacher Fellowships are also excluded from the exam.

JMI Ph.D. Entrance Test: All topics other than language are administered in English only. To be selected for the interview, students must pass both sections A and B.

  • Candidates who fall under OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) must produce a pertinent certificate issued by the appropriate body.
  • The Muslim Minority category will take over any open seats from the categories of Women Applicants and OBC-NCL applicants.
