Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar abbreviated as KIIT was established in the year 1992, by Achyuta Samanta, C R Mishra, and PK Mishra. In the year 2004, it is conferred as a deemed university. It has different individual campuses for different programs. The institute was established with a moto of industrial training but later on in 1993 the department of management was established and named as KIIT School of Management (KSOM).
KIIT University Bhubaneswar offers a management program in five different courses. They are Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Management Development Programmes (MDP), Faculty Development Programmes (FDP) and a PhD Programme. KIIT School of Management offers an MBA course in six specializations like Marketing, Finance, Technology and Operations Management (TOM) and Information Technology (IT).
KSOM’s rank was 30th among management schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2018. KIIT Bhubaneswar ranking was 56th on the list of "India's best B-schools 2016" by Business Today's and 38th by Outlook India's "Top 100 Management Schools" in 2016. It is a ‘A’ grade college by NAAC.
There are a total of 50 full-time faculty members in the management institute. All the faculty members are achievers in their own field from the University of Massachusetts, University of Wisconsin, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, XLRI, XIMB, IITs. Nearly 50% of the faculty members are holders of doctoral degrees. They also have industrial experience. Apart from these full-time faculty members, there are several visiting faculty members also.

This institute offers multiple post graduation courses. It delivers an MBA program in Marketing, Finance, Technology and Operations Management(TOM) and Information Technology (IT).

KIIT School of Management Admission Process
Since 1993 KIIT serves excellent management education. Securing a seat in KIIT university is pretty tough as the competition is really tough. For the MBA program, it selects the candidates on the basis of the scorecard of CAT or XAT or MAT or CMAT.
- The candidate must have CAT or MAT or CMAT or XAT scorecard.
- The candidate needs to appear in the KIIT Entrance Examination for Management Placements.
KIIT School of Management Placement
KSOM is one of the best institutes in India. Every year it confirms that most of the students get placed. From the last couple of years, its placement rate is almost 100%. The recruiter sends the eligibility criteria to the college and then the institute sends the CVs of the eligible candidates. The recruiter visits the campus for written test, group discussion, and personal interview rounds. Near about 100 companies have visited the campus for placement drive last year. Some of the companies are Dell, Bajaj Finserv, yes bank, Deloitte, etc.

KIIT School of Management Result and Cut-off
KIIT declares the cut off after the CAT or XAT or MAT or CMAT examination as its score depends on the CAT cutoff. It also announces the cut off of KIITEE for management after the entrance examination held. The cut off varies year to year as it depends on various criteria such as the number of students applied for the course, the capacity of the college etc. Being a reputed B-school, the management is very determined to maintain the cut off as suitable as that.
KIIT School of Management Alumni Network
26 years of excellence with more than 4,600 alumni is a plus point of KSOM. All the alumni are engaged in different sectors and in different well-known companies. The alumni of KSOM are involved in student mentoring, providing access to their corporate network, participate in various different events in school, providing internship of students in their organization. The institute also organizes a get-together for its alumni members within the campus or in any chapter location.
KIIT School of Management Scholarships
KIIT Bhubaneswar helps its students to grow in different ways and the institute is still working on it. This year the institute started the scholarship program for its meritorious students. Top-5 students of KIITEE Management Entrance Examination, candidates with 80 percentile and above score in CAT/XAT, candidates with 95 Percentile and above score in MAT (Applicable for Dec MAT & Feb MAT) get a 50% waiver to the tuition fee.
KIIT Campus Facility
KIIT School of Management spreads across 35 acres of land with the full Wi-Fi-enabled campus. This institute offers all the amenities a student wishes. The classrooms are air-conditioned with overhead projectors, audio video systems, computers, and wireless hotspots. The campus has an auditorium, open-air amphitheatre, indoor stadium, swimming pools. The institution also has a 1,000 bedded hospital. Within the campus, there are tennis and volleyball courts, large playgrounds, a jogging track for sports enthusiastic persons, the library fully equipped with books, journals, electronic supplies and access to several renowned web libraries and journals. The campus has separate girls and boys hostel.
