About College

Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is government co-educational institute was established in the year 1960. It is awarded as an “Institute of National Importance” in 1961 by the parliament of India. College is affiliated as a Central University and administered by IIT council, established by the government of India. The college has approved by AICTE- All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi, Govt. of India and MHRD- Ministry of Human Resource and Development, New Delhi. IIT, Kanpur facilitates high-class education in engineering and management programs. IIT Kanpur Admissions to B.Tech, B.S, and dual degree courses are offered through JEE Advanced, and for M.Sc programs admission is offered through JAM. A valid GATE score is required for admission to the M.Tech./ MS program and for M.Des. Course it is offered by the CEED score. IITK has a sprawling campus of 1055 acres and has 108 buildings. There are nearly 415 faculty members and 7500 students in IITK, and nearly all students live on campus. Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is situated on GT Road at Kalyanpur in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. It locates 16 km west of city and well-connected by roads.
