SSC JE 2019 Eligibility Criteria

To become eligible for writing this exam, the candidates need to have the following qualification.

  1. Nationality

The candidates must be satisfying any of the following conditions:

  • A citizen of India (or)
  • A Nepalese subject (or)
  • A Bhutanese subject (or)
  • A refugee from Tibet who had come to settle in India permanently before 01 January 1962. (or)
  • A person of Indian origin who had come to India from the following countries and settled permanently.

Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Ethiopia, Malawi, and Vietnam.

  1. Age Limit

The candidates should be aware of the age limits specific to particular posts. Only if they satisfy the particular age criterion, they will be eligible for that post concerned. The date of birth mentioned on class X/XII-mark sheet (or equivalent certificate) is solely used for calculating the age of the candidates.

Points to remember

Age relaxation

The candidates have certain age limits for appearing in this examination. But, this is applicable only to the candidates from the general category. The age relaxation benefits are given for other categories: SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), Physical Challenged (10 years), Physically challenged candidates belonging to SC/ST (15 years) and OBC (13 years). The ex-servicemen belonging to all the categories have a reservation (General-3 years, OBC- 6 years, SC/ST-8 years)

  1. Educational qualification:

Only some posts that would be filled by the examination need the work experience along with the basic educational qualification.
