RRB NTPC 2019 Exam Pattern

Candidates will mandatory have to appear for two stages of the online exam – First Stage Online Examination (Preliminary Test which is online Computer Based Test) and Second Stage Examination (Mains – Online mode). Apart from the above exams, there will also be an assessment of the candidate’s typing skill (for the required posts)- Typing Test. The RRB NTPC Exam Pattern for first stage and the second stage exam is of 100 marks each. The General Awareness paper will be of the highest of marks distributed in the RRB NTPC 2019 First Stage Online Examination. The questions for both the stages of the exam will be a multiple-choice type and the question paper will be available in English, Hindu, Urdu, and other local languages. The candidates qualifying in the written examination should go through an Aptitude Test and a Medical Fitness Test in order to get shortlisted for the NTPC jobs.

Candidates should also be aware that there will be negative marking for the incorrect answers and for each wrong answer, 1/3rd of the marks allotted to the question will be deducted. Although, there will be no negative marking for the un-attempted questions.

The Main examination for the RRB NTPC will consist of 120 questions which need to be answered in 90 minutes. The RRB NTPC Second Stage Exam Pattern is as follows:-

Candidates should follow the below tips to be successful in the RRB NTPC:-

1. The important thing is that the candidate should not attempt to guess the answer as there is negative marking for each incorrect answer.

2. If the candidate is not able to solve any questions then it is better to leave that question and move further to save time.

3. The trick to clear the examination is that the candidate should attempt the question which he knows better and can solve quickly as this will set the temperament to complete the paper on time.

4. If the candidate needs to guess the answer then he/she should make sure to guess only for the questions in which they have eliminated one or two options. This will increase the chances of guessing right.

5. Candidate should be totally aware of the syllabus for each section and must start the preparations as early as possible.

6. The important thing is that the candidate should read the newspapers daily and also read static GK. A continuous reading is required for understanding the current affairs as a candidate will not be able to cover all the GK topics in just a month or at the end time.

7. Candidate should devote at least 60 to 90 minutes for reading the newspaper daily. They should make the notes, mark the essential facts and keep them in single file to revise on a few days before the exam.

8. It is best to read any good Static GK book 30 minutes before going to bed. It is suggested to start the preparation early as it will help you to re-read the book prior to the exam.

9. Topics to cover on GK are Politics, Markets, Sports, Business & Economics, Technology, Mergers and Acquisitions, Abbreviations & business taglines, Awards and honors, Geography – Dams, Rivers, etc. Candidate should not forget to cover famous personalities, books & authors, organizations and miscellaneous things.

10. Candidate should read newspapers as it will help them in a great way of preparing for the GK section.

11. Candidate should solve the previous years’ papers as just reading the syllabus won’t help in the examination. Candidate should be aware of solving the questions on time and accurately.

12. There are many online courses available to cover the course, and the candidate can join any of the course for the preparation of the exam.
