RRB NTPC 2019 Exam Information

RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) is a Government body that manages the recruitment process for several posts in the railways’ sector. There are 21 regional Railway Recruitment Boards in total and every year exams are conducted for various posts in this sector. Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) would conduct to the recruit for the vacancies for the posts of Non-technical Popular Categories, Paramedical staff, Material and Isolated Category, and Level-1 Posts. The vacancies will be for Assistant Station Master (ASM), Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-typist, Senior Clerk cum typist, Goods Guard, Traffic Apprentice (TA), Commercial Apprentice (CA), Traffic Assistant, Enquiry Cum Reservation Clerk (ECRC), Senior Time Keeper.

The selection process of the RRB NTPC includes the three steps which are as follows:

  1. Preliminary Test
  2. Main Test
  3. Personal Interview or Skill Test or Aptitude Test – Candidates who will clear the prelims exam and the main examination will appear for the third round which will include the typing test and aptitude test. Typing test will be for the candidates who have applied for the post of Junior Accounts Assistant cum typist, senior clerk cum typist and senior timekeeper. An aptitude test will be for the candidates who have applied for the post of traffic assistant and assistant station master.

The overall level of Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Category examination is on a low to a medium scale when compared with the other competitive examination. Candidate should be properly prepared for the examination and the personal interview round.

RRB NTPC 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should note that the minimum age limit is 18 years and maximum age is 32 years to apply for the Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Category examination. However, there is age relaxation for candidates for reserved categories and physically handicapped which is mentioned below:-

  • OBC – 3 years ( 35 years as the maximum age limit)
  • SC/ST – 5 years (37 years as the maximum age limit)
  • Ex-Servicemen – 3 years ( 35 years as the maximum age limit)
  • Physically Handicapped (General) – 10 years
  • Physically Handicapped (OBC) – 13 years
  • Physically Handicapped (SC/ST) – 15 years
  • Candidates Domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir – 5 Years

RRB NTPC 2019 Registration

Candidates would need to fill the application form online on the official website and the link will be updated on the beginning date of the application forms of the respective examination. The application fees for the General and OBC category candidates will be INR 500/- and INR 250/- for SC, ST, PWD, Women, EXSM, Transgender, Minorities, Economically backward category candidates.

Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Category application form will be released on the official website of the RRB. Candidates should fill and submit the application form with the correct details and the form should be uploaded with the scanned images of candidates photo and signature. The application fee for the examination can be paid through the credit card, debit card or net banking.

  1. Scanned photograph and scanned caste certificate
  2. Bank account details to pay the application fee online
  3. Marksheets of class 10th, 12th, and Graduation

Step 1 – Online Registration – Candidates would need to Click on ‘New Registration’ to register online and fill in the basic details which include name, father’s name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID. Candidates will then have the provisional registration number and password will be generated. The provisional ID and password will be sent via mail to your registered email ID.

Step 2 –Filling up the Required details on the application form – Candidates would need to enter the details related to Educational qualifications, personal details, post preference, and railway production unit and exam centers. Candidates can select up to five centers to appear for the computer-based test.

RRB NTPC 2019 Exam Pattern

Candidates will mandatory have to appear for two stages of the online exam – First Stage Online Examination (Preliminary Test which is online Computer Based Test) and Second Stage Examination (Mains – Online mode). Apart from the above exams, there will also be an assessment of the candidate’s typing skill (for the required posts)- Typing Test. The Railway Recruitment Board Non-technical Popular Category examination first stage and the second stage exam is of 100 marks each. The General Awareness paper will be of the highest of marks distributed in the RRB NTPC 2019 First Stage Online Examination. The questions for both the stages of the exam will be a multiple-choice type and the question paper will be available in English, Hindu, Urdu, and other local languages. The candidates qualifying in the written examination should go through an Aptitude Test and a Medical Fitness Test in order to get shortlisted for the NTPC jobs.

Candidate should know the detailed syllabus of each section which is as follows:-

  1. Arithmetic Ability-This section is added in the exam question paper to test the quantitative aptitude and data interpretation of the candidate.   3. General Awareness – This section of the question paper consists of mixed questions for static GK and current affairs. The topics will include Indian Economy, Indian History, Indian Geography, Indian Railways (Facts & Figures, History), Indian Polity, Indian Culture & Heritage, Current Affairs (National, International.   4. General Science –This section consists of basic concepts of the science and candidates can prepare from the old NCERT books. The topics will be included in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Studies.

RRB NTPC 2019 Result

Railway Recruitment Board will declare the result of RRB NTPC 2019 in three stages which are Computer Based Test, Aptitude Test or the skill test and the final result. Candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage of the exam on the basis of marks in RRB NTPC Results. The Board will prepare the result on the basis of the cut off and it will be released in the form of a PDF file.
