RBI Assistant Eligibility
RBI notifies candidates of eligibility required to appear for RBI Assistant exam. Candidates should ensure they meet eligibility criteria before they apply. Eligibility is defined in two criteria – Nationality, Age Limit and Educational Qualifications. There is no limit specified on number of attempts allowed for this examination.
The basic eligibility conditions have been presented below:
Nationality
Candidate must be an Indian citizen as per RBI guidelines
Educational Qualification
To be eligible, candidates must meet the following academic conditions –
- Hold a Graduate degree from a University/ Institution or Board recognised by the Government.
- The candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% at degree level (Passing-class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in aggregate.
- Basic Computer knowledge is also required
[Candidates in their final year of their degree programme may also apply for the exam as long as they are able to produce
Age Eligibility
Minimum Age – 20 Years | Maximum Age – 28 years
As per Government guidelines, RBI offers age relaxation for certain categories as stated under –

Language Proficiency
Candidate applying from a particular State/UT should have basic proficiency in the corresponding language of that State/UT. Although not tested during Prelim or Mains, a Language Proficiency Test will be conducted at the end of selection process to verify this.
