MICAT 2027 Exam Pattern

The MICAT 2027 exam pattern is expected to remain similar to the previous admission cycle. Conducted by the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), MICAT is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) designed to assess candidates’ analytical ability, creativity, communication skills, and personality traits. The examination is divided into three sectionsPsychometric Test, Descriptive Test, and Aptitude Test. Candidates must qualify the Psychometric Test before their performance in the remaining sections is evaluated.

Unlike most MBA entrance examinations, MICAT includes both objective and subjective questions. While there is no negative marking in the Psychometric and Descriptive sections, the Aptitude Test carries a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. The total duration of the examination is 135 minutes, and the test is conducted in English.

MICAT 2027 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme differs across sections of the examination:

  • Psychometric Test: Qualifying in nature; no marks are awarded and there is no negative marking.
  • Descriptive Test: Subjective evaluation with no negative marking.
  • Aptitude Test: Candidates receive one mark for every correct answer, while 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect response. Unanswered questions do not attract any penalty.
