MICAT Eligibility Criteria 2027 - Academic Qualification and Age Limit

MICAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

The Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) will prescribe the MICAT 2027 eligibility criteria in the official admission notification. Candidates seeking admission to MICA’s PGDM and PGDM-C programmes must satisfy the prescribed academic qualifications and possess a valid score in at least one of the accepted national management entrance examinations. Meeting the eligibility criteria is mandatory; however, it does not guarantee admission, as candidates are also required to qualify the MICAT selection process.

Candidates should carefully verify their eligibility before submitting the application form. If any information provided during the admission process is found to be incorrect or if a candidate fails to satisfy the prescribed requirements, MICA reserves the right to cancel the candidature at any stage of the admission process.

MICAT 2027 Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility conditions to apply for MICAT 2027:

  • Applicants must possess a valid score in CAT 2026, XAT 2027, or GMAT (2025 onwards). Submission of a valid score from at least one of these examinations is mandatory for admission to MICA.
  • Candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3 pattern) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply, provided they complete all degree requirements within the timeline specified by MICA.
  • General category candidates should have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in their bachelor’s degree, while candidates belonging to reserved categories should have obtained 45% aggregate marks.
  • There is no upper age limit for appearing in the MICAT examination.
  • Foreign Nationals and NRI candidates can also apply, provided they possess a valid CAT/XAT/GMAT score along with a valid foreign passport, wherever applicable.

CAT / XAT / GMAT Requirement for MICAT 2027

A valid score in CAT 2026, XAT 2027, or GMAT (2025 onwards) is a mandatory eligibility requirement for admission. Candidates may submit the score of any one of these examinations while applying for MICAT. During the selection process, MICA considers the candidate’s qualifying exam score along with the MICAT performance, Group Exercise (GE), and Personal Interview (PI).

Important Points

  • MICA conducts MICAT I and MICAT II, and candidates may appear for one or both phases. The better of the two MICAT scores is considered for shortlisting.
  • Qualifying the eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission. Final selection is based on performance in the Psychometric Test, MICAT, GE, PI, academics, and other evaluation parameters.
  • MICA does not publicly disclose a fixed CAT/XAT/GMAT cutoff. Candidates who meet the institute’s internal cutoff are considered for the subsequent stages of the admission process.
