As the oldest of the Indian Institutes of Management, IIM Calcutta ranks amongst the elite business schools across Asia. Every year, more than 60,000 students apply for IIM-C hoping to get one of the 462 seats. As a result, the institute has one of the strictest admission regulation processes in the country. The admission procedure is conducted in two phases. In order to be eligible for the second phase, the candidate must first satisfy the cutoff set by the institution.IIM Calcutta issues sectional as well as overall cutoff percentiles. The overall cutoff percentile is usually affixed at 90 for the General category applicants. The candidate is advised to be familiar with the previous years’ cutoff trends.

CAT 2018 Cutoff Highlights

  • For General category candidates, the cutoff percentile was 90.
  • The cutoff percentile for OBC category applicants was 75.
  • The cutoff is calculated on the basis of a weighted average of the candidate’s performance in their CAT (or any other equivalent) exam and the group discussion and personal interview rounds.
