IIM Calcutta Admission Updates 2023
Only the candidates who have registered for the WAT-PI process will be considered in the further selection process for IIM Calcutta’s admission in 2023. The admission process involves two stages. In the first stage, IIM Calcutta shortlists candidates as per their CAT score, with the minimum cutoff being 85 percentile, but the actual cutoff ranging between 98-99 percentile. In the second stage, the selection is based on overall performance in CAT & Personal Interview, Academic Record, Work Experience, Gender Diversity, and WAT, which is conducted online as GD has been scrapped. Additionally, for the 2023 MBA admission, the Graduation score is not a part of the final selection criteria for IIM Calcutta.
IIM Calcutta Admission 2023: MBA
The MBA Program of IIM Calcutta is a case study based design and aims to create excellent general managers and high-level decision-makers. The MBA degree of IIM Calcutta is a full time 2 year residential program. The course is designed in a 2 tier structure, consisting of Core Curriculum, Summer internship and elective courses. For successful completion of MBA program, a candidate must earn 93 credit points (excluding term papers) and a maximum of 105 credit points.

IIM Calcutta MBA Eligibility
To be eligible for the MBA program at IIM Calcutta, candidates must meet the following criteria:

A Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) or equivalent in any discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.

For candidates who are in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree, the minimum percentage of marks required is 50% or equivalent CGPA based on their latest available grades or marks.

Valid CAT score.

Candidates must meet the minimum percentile cut-off criteria as set by IIM Calcutta in each section of the CAT.

There is no age limit for candidates applying to the MBA program at IIM Calcutta.

IIM Calcutta Admission Process 2023 (Domestic Students):
IIM Calcutta admission process consists of 2 rounds
- Minimum CAT percentile cut-offs to be considered for PI

For Round 1: Minimum CAT percentile cut-offs to be considered for PI, candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria of IIM Calcutta, will be selected on the basis of CAT Score as per the cutoff released by the institute.
For IIM Calcutta MBA Admissions 2023, the minimum cutoff required for general category remained 85 percentile, however, the actual cutoff to get a call remained much higher i.e around 98-99 percentile.

IIM Calcutta Cut-off required for consideration in Pre PI selection process is 85 percentile. However, the weightage for CAT in the recent admission policy is reduced to 56% for pre-pi shortlisting. The table below provides details of the General category overall and sectional cut off:

Round 2: Shortlisting for PI
Candidates satisfying the standards of Round 1 will be called for personal interview on the basis of composite score derived using CAT Score, Academics, and Gender Diversity. The weightage of all these components is tabulated below:

Round 3: Final Selection
For Admission to MBA, final selection of students is done on the basis of composite score of candidates derived using CAT Score, Personal Interview, Academic Diversity, and Work Experience. The weightage of each component is tabulated below:

Work Experience
For work experience, a maximum of eight points will be awarded based on the length of service (in completed months) as on January 31. IIM Calcutta only considers managerial work experience after completing the graduation degree. The points awarded for work experience are as follows:

Final Selection: On the basis of the composite score in final shortlist, IIM Calcutta will invite students for admission.
IIM Calcutta MBA (PGP) How to Apply?
For admission to PGP (MBA program) IIM Ahmedabad conducts CAT, in association with other 20 IIMs of the country. To fill the application form, aspirants are requested to follow the given steps:
- Visit https://iimcat.ac.in.
- Click on New Registration.
- Fill in all the required details and provide a valid email and phone number.
- Applicants will receive a user id and password for further use.
- Enter the OTP and click on Validate OTP and submit after entering the Captcha Code.
- Check on “I Agree” and submit CAT application form.
- After submitting the details, a message on registered mobile number containing the Password and an email containing the User ID will be sent.
- Post successful completion of CAT Registration, a unique login id and password is generated.
- These credentials are vital for filling CAT Application Form 2021.

- A printout of your CAT/GMAT/GRE Result Card.
- 10, 12 and Undergraduate transcripts (both original and copies)

IIM Calcutta Admission Process 2023 (Overseas Students):
Who qualifies as an overseas student? As per the official website of IIM Calcutta, Interested candidates living, working or studying outside India during the period January 1 of the previous year to February 15 of the current year will be considered as ‘Overseas Candidate’ for admission to MBA.
IIM Calcutta MBA (Overseas Student) Eligibility:
All overseas students, having a graduation degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent are eligible for admission to IIM Calcutta MBA Program. IIM Calcutta considers GMAT score for admission to MBA, the minimum score required is as follows:

IIM Calcutta MBA (Overseas Students) Admissions Shortlisting is done in 2 stages:
Stage I: In the first stage, a candidate’s GMAT Total percentile will be considered as equivalent to his or her CAT 2021 percentile. This would be used to determine the candidate’s Equivalent CAT 2021 score.
Stage II: Stage 2 of MBA Admission will be similar to mentioned above (for domestic candidates).
IIM Calcutta MBA Admission: How to Apply (Overseas Students)
All Overseas candidates can apply for MBA by visiting IIM Calcutta’s official website. All related documents as mentioned below will have to be uploaded as per the instructions while filling in the online application form.

The application fee for the overseas candidate is US$ 150 (or an equivalent amount in Indian currency).
IIM Calcutta MBA Executive Admission Criteria 2023
Eligibility: Candidates with a bachelor’s degree (minimum 10+2+3 years of formal education) or equivalent in any discipline are eligible for admission to Executive MBA at IIM Calcutta.
Key Notes:
- At least 5 years of full-time post-qualification managerial/professional experience are also required
- 5% relaxation is granted for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
- Valid GMAT Score (taken within the last 36 months of application date).

How to Apply MBA Executive at IIM Calcutta?
- To apply for admission to the MBA-Ex Program, the candidates must visit the official website of IIM C.
- Register by providing valid information.
- Log in and proceed to fill the application form.
- Enter the mandatory details.
- Mention the GMAT score.
- Upload the scanned documents and transcripts.
- Provide the name and contact information of two referees (who will provide the LOR)
- To submit the form, the candidates must pay INR. 2000/- as application fee.
Note: Candidates must carry a hard copy of the filled-in application form at the time of the interview.
IIM Calcutta PGPEX-VLM Admission Criteria 2023
IIM Calcutta PGPEX-VLM (Post Graduate Program for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing) is a one-year full-time program jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras. The Entrance Exam for PGPEX-VLM 2023 will be conducted in four cities (Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi) as per applicants preference.
Eligibility:
- IIM Calcutta considers First-Class Graduate Engineers with First Division/ First Class Marks from Secondary Examination onwards for PGPEX-VLM Admissions.
- Self Sponsored Candidate should have a Minimum work experience of 4½ Years to Maximum 10 Years of work experience in manufacturing, engineering, and related sector; holding responsibilities in production planning and control, research, design and development, quality control, plant engineering, maintenance, supply chain, construction, etc.
- Sponsored candidates & Candidates on study leave need to have a minimum of 4½ (four and a half) years’ work experience only, with no upper limit of experience.
IIM Calcutta PGPEX-VLM Selection Criteria
IIM Calcutta will shortlist the eligible candidates on the basis of written test based on eligibility and evaluation of SoP. Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a written test consisting of Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, and Engineering Ability. The written test will be conducted in four cities (Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi).
Final selection will be done as per candidate’s academic records, work experience, and performance in written test and personal Interview.

The above mention performance indicators will be used to prepare a final merit list. The college will not offer any admission as per the reservations rules and admissions will only be merit-based.
How to Apply for PGPEX-VLM at IIM Calcutta?
To register for Admission to the PGPEx-VLM program, the candidates must visit the official website of the institute. Submit the duly filled and signed online application form along with the application fee of INR. 3500 via online payment using Debit/ Credit Card or Using Net Banking.

- A digital/scanned color passport-sized photo not older than six months from the date of the submitted application.

IIM Calcutta PGDBA Admission Criteria 2023
Admission will be granted on the basis of PGDBA Entrance test, after which the shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview. As per recent admission policy, IIMC for final selection considers only class 12 merit excluding the Class 10 merit weightage from the process. The PGDBA entrance test merit has increased by 5 points.

Eligibility: Candidate seeking admission to PGDBA course must hold a graduate/post-graduate degree with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree.
Notes:
- For the Reserved category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
- Candidates, who are in the final year, are also eligible to apply provided they appear in the final examination and complete other academic requirements.

IIM Calcutta PhD Admission Criteria 2023
IIM Calcutta offers doctoral/ research programs in the field of management for a duration of 2 years.
Eligibility: Candidate should have First Class Master’s or Postgraduate diploma (2 years) in any discipline and a three-year Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in the aggregate.
- CA with a minimum of 50% marks or CS/CMA with a minimum of 55% marks, with a B.Com degree.
- B.Tech/4 years degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent.
- Non-engineering candidates who have undergone 10+2+5 years will be considered eligible to apply for the Doctoral Program

In the admission process 60% seats are reserved for Reserved category applicants. Based on the entrance test score and referral of the candidates, the final selection list is declared.
Note: Validity of entrance score excluding CAT for 2 years. IIMs MBA or PGDM qualified applicants with minimum 6.0 CGPA are exempted from entrance test score requirement.
IIM Calcutta PhD Fellowship
- IIM Calcutta offers Tuition waivers for selected Ph.D. scholars.
- Scholars are offered INR 30000-35000 per month.
- Institute provides special grants for student development support, Computer grant.
