IIM Ahmedabad Course Admissions 2024

The interview shortlist for the PGP and PGP FABM batch of 2024 has been released by IIM Ahmedabad. Graduation scores will be considered for admission to the 2024-26 batch. Online MBA admissions for 2024 at IIM Ahmedabad are currently open, with the deadline for applications being May 10, 2024.

IIM Ahmedabad’s flagship program is its MBA, and admission to this program is based on CAT scores. The institute assigns 65% weightage to CAT percentiles in the initial stage and 25% weightage in the final selection round. The MBA selection process at IIM Ahmedabad involves two stages. In the first stage, candidates are shortlisted based on CAT scores and previous academic performance. In the second stage, selected applicants are invited for the Academic Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI).

For the PGPX (one-year PGP) program at IIM Ahmedabad, registration occurs in three phases. Admission is determined by GMAT or GRE scores. Candidates shortlisted based on their GMAT/GRE scores must undergo a personal interview on specified dates. To be eligible for the PGPX program, candidates should possess four years of full-time work experience after graduation.

Additionally, IIM Ahmedabad offers a Postgraduate Program in Food and Agri-business Management (PGP-FABM), which is a full-time, two-year program.

IIM Ahmedabad MBA (PGP) Admission Criteria 2024

IIMA offers two year full time residential MBA/ (PGP) for graduates from all disciplines who wish to make a career in management 

IIM Ahmedabad MBA (PGP) Eligibility

  • 3 year bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45 % in case of the candidate belonging to SC, ST, PwD category from a recognised University, after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. 
  • Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from university certifying that they have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category) in latest grades/marks. 
  • Final year or candidates awaiting results , if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate before commencement of program. 

IIM Ahmedabad MBA (PGP) Selection Criteria

IIM Ahmedabad Selection is a 4 stage criteria, where candidates are assessed on each stage of the process and candidates satisfying the eligibility and cutoffs make it to the final and get an admission call from the college.

The stage-wise criteria for IIM Ahmedabad Shortlisting is given below:

  1. Preliminary Screening of Candidates: Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their CAT cutoff. 
  2. Calculation of Composite Score: After filtering out the most eligible candidates, IIM Ahmedabad will now assess candidates on the basis of the CAT Score and Academic profile.

    The profiles of candidates will be considered on the basis of the “Application Rating Score” which comprises of 4 components, namely

    A:10th Standard Score; B: 12th Standard Score; C: Graduation level score (Score 0); D: Work experience.
    So, Application Rating Score: AR= (A+B+C(0)+D).
    The AR now will be computed on a scale of 25 (considering class 10th marks, class 12th marks and candidate’s work experience) and the points will be pro-rated to 35.
    Composite Score (CS): CS = 0.35* (Pro-rated AR Score/35)   +   0.65* (Normalised overall CAT Score)

  3. Shortlisting for Analytical Writing Test (AWT & PI): Candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interview on the basis of the composite score ‘CS’ subject to their fulfilling criteria as mentioned the pdf given above. Finally an Upper Limit (UL) on the number of candidates to be shortlisted per RC for AC-1, Ac-2, AC-3, AC-5.
  4. Final Selection: The selection at this stage will strictly be based on the shortlisting of the candidates done separately for each category (General/SC/ST/NC-OBC/PwD) on the basis of their ‘Final Composite Score’s (FCS). The score will be calculated as

FCS = PIF * Normalised PI Score + AWTF + CATF_FCS * Normalised CAT Score + ARF_FCS * AR

IIM Ahmedabad PGP (MBA) How to Apply?

For IIM Ahmedabad admission to PGP (MBA program) conducts CAT, in association with other 20 IIMs of the country. To fill the application form, aspirants are requested to follow the given steps:

  1. Visit the official website of IIMA 
  2. Click on New Registration.
  3. Fill in all the required details and provide a valid email and phone number.
  4. Applicants will receive a user id and password for further use.
  5. Enter the OTP and click on Validate OTP and submit after entering the Captcha Code.
  6. Check on “I Agree” and submit the CAT application form.
  7. After submitting the details, a message on the registered mobile number containing the Password and an email containing the User ID will be sent.
  8. Post successful completion of CAT Registration, a unique login id and password is generated.
  9. These credentials are vital for filling CAT Application Form 2021.

IIM Ahmedabad PGP-FABM Admission Criteria 2024

The postgraduate program in Food and Agri-business Management (PGP-FABM) is 2 year program designed to develop managers, leaders and entrepreneurs in an increasingly competitive and globalising food and agri-business sector.

IIM Ahmedabad PGP-FABM Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Sciences or a relevant discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (a relaxation of 5% marks is granted for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories) are eligible for IIM Ahmedabad course admissions.
  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in any specialisation can also apply on the conditions of having strong interest in agriculture, food, rural and allied sectors. Such candidates will be required to submit a special form. Failure to submit the form will lead to disqualification. 

IIM Ahmedabad PGP-FABM Selection Criteria

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of Group Discussion and personal Interview of the candidates who have applied for the program and have a valid CAT score.  An overseas candidate having a background in food and agriculture can apply with GMAT score instead of CAT score. 

For shortlisting candidates for PGP-FABM program 65% weightage will be given to the scores of CAT and 35% weightage to the Application Rating Score.  Shortlisting of Candidates with bachelor’s degree or equivalent will be provisional subject to the submission of specified form (Specifying the nature of interest in the program).

 The application Rating score will be based on Class 10, Class 12 and bachelor Exam scores as follows:

  1. Marks of applicants, who are yet to complete Graduation will be computed as per available marks.
  2. CA/ICWAI/CS qualified candidates (without bachelor’s degree), the average of intermediate and final exam percentages would be treated as bachelor’s degree marks.
  3. For computing AR score,10th and 12th Std. scores will be considered irrespective of whether or not the board considers them for calculating the percentage.
  4. For bachelor’s degree, the percentage of marks awarded by the institute/university will be treated as final.
  5. For candidates having a 5-year integrated master’s degree, percentage of marks obtained in the first 3 years will be considered as bachelor’s degree percentage. 

Composite Score: Composite Score = 0.35 * ARS (Application Rating Score) + 0.7 * NCS (Normalised CAT Score).

Normalised CAT Score

NCS: Normalised CAT Score of an individual = (NQS + NDILR + NVCRS) / 3

NQS = QS / (Average of top 50 QS)

NDILRS = DILRS / (Average of top 50 DILRS)

NVCRS = VRCS / (Average of top 50 VRCS)

Where NCS: Normalised CAT Score; NQS: Normalised Quant scaled score; NDILRS: Normalised Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning Scaled Score; NVCRS: Normalised Verbal & Reading Comprehension scaled score

Application Rating Score

The Application Rating score of a candidate can be determined by following the given formulae. 

ARS (Application Rating Score) of a candidate = [Rating Score A+ Rating Score B + Rating Score C]/35.

Rating Scores “A”, “B” and “C” are computed based on the percentage of marks obtained in the 10th Standard, 12th Standard (depending on the stream viz. Science, Commerce and Arts) and the Bachelor/Master degree programme (depending on the disciplines) respectively.

Final Selection

For final selection of candidates for the programme, 10% weightage would be given to AWT, 40% weightage would be given to PI Score and 50% weightage would be given to the Composite Score to arrive at the Final Composite Score.

Note: The AWT and PI scores of a candidate are normalised by dividing with the corresponding maximum possible score that could be obtained.

Reservation:

  • 27% of the seats are reserved for NC-OBC, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST candidates.
  • 5% seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).
  • 10% seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

IIM Ahmedabad PGPX Admission Criteria 2024

PGPX (Post graduate management program in Management Executives) or Executive MBA is a one year management program offered by IIM Ahmedabad. 

IIM Ahmedabad PGPX Eligibility

  • A bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) or equivalent in any discipline.
  • Minimum age of 25 years as on 31st March of the year in which the PGPX programme commences.
  • Valid GRE score.
  • Minimum 4 years of full-time work experience after completion of graduation as on March 31, 2020.

Note: The shortlisted candidates must submit the essays on the specified topics.

IIM Ahmedabad PGPX Selection Criteria

IIM Ahmedabad will select candidates on the basis of GMAT/ GRE score. The selection process for the PGPX batch is a two-stage process.

Stage 1:  Candidates will be short-listed for the Personal Interview.

Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel of IIMA faculty members.

IIMA offers a full time ePost Graduate Program. The duration of this program is 1 year.

IIMA ePGP Eligibility 

  • Candidates having a bachelor’s degree or CA or CS degree with at least 50% marks are eligible for IIM Ahmedabad course admissions.
  • IIM Ahmedabad recently added GMAT/ GRE apart from CAT as a shortlisting criteria for ePGP program. 
  • Working Professionals and entrepreneurs with a minimum of 3 years full time work experience are eligible for IIM Ahmedabad course admissions.

IIMA offers PhD in 11 specialisations- Agriculture, Economics, Finance & Accounting, Human Resource Management, Information Systems, Innovation and Management in Education, Marketing, Organisational Behavior, Production and Quantitative Methods, Public Systems Group and Strategy. 

Duration

  • For Master’s Or Postgraduate Diploma holders duration is 2 yrs.

  • For candidates seeking admission after B.Tech, the duration of the program is 4 years.

IIM Ahmedabad PhD Eligibility

IIM Ahmedabad PhD Fellowship

IIMA provides a comprehensive fellowship. The fellowship covers all academic expenses including tuition, computer, library, medical insurance, placement and alumni fees. 

Under this fellowship, candidates are also given a monthly subsistence allowance of-

  1. SLAB A – INR 32,800 Granted for the First Year and Second Year.
  2. SLAB B – INR 35,400 Granted after completing comprehensive examination.
  3. SLAB C – INR 39,300 Granted after submitting the TAC approved thesis proposal.

Contingency Allowance – INR 25,000 per year (for five years) will be granted to cover research expenses, expenses on books, photocopying etc. 

International Conference/ Workshop / Summer school Allowance: INR 1,75,000 will be granted during entire tenure with Ph.D. 

Since the Ph. D. Programme is a full time residential programme, accommodation is provided to all the students in dormitories. A fixed number of houses for married students are available on campus.

IIM Ahmedabad ePGD ABA Admissions 2024

IIM Ahmedabad also offers an ePGD in Advanced Business Analytics. Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in relevant fields are eligible to apply in the ePGD-ABA course. Candidates who are interested in the course can fill the application form online till December 19, 2021. The selection in the course is based on the GRE/CAT/GATE or the ePGD-ABA qualifying-cum-aptitude test entrance exam scorecard followed by the Personal Interview round.

IIM Ahmedabad ePGD ABA Eligibility

IIM Ahmedabad also offers a one-year duration ePGD in Advanced Business Analytics. Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in relevant fields are eligible to apply in the ePGD-ABA course. Also, the final selection is based on the Personal Interview round.

  • Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree with strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the domain of business analytics.
  • Candidates should have a valid test score (GRE/CAT/GATE or the ePGD-ABA qualifying-cum-aptitude test).

IIM Ahmedabad ePGD ABA Selection Process

The selection process in ePGD-ABA course depends on the following points: 

ePGD ABA Admission Test and Waiver:

Candidates can apply to the programme with a valid GMAT/ GRE/CAT/GATE score. In case the candidate doesn’t have a valid GRE/CAT/GATE score they can apply through the ePGD-ABA qualifying-cum-aptitude test.

This test is expected to be of 1 hour 30 minutes duration and will comprise three sections:

 (i) English comprehension,

 (ii) Logical reasoning and data interpretation, and 

(iii) Quantitative aptitude.

Given the circumstances arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, the test will be conducted online in device-to-device mode.

Personal Interview

The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The interviews will be conducted online over video conferencing.
