India Post has recently announced, in its official notification, the availability of various vacancies and therefore it is inviting applications from interested candidates to fill in these posts.

It is looking for candidates to fill in for the post of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) along with which they have the posts of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak.

This recruitment process is being conducted to fill up vacancies in three state circles namely- Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Chhattisgarh.

There are around 2707 vacant posts to be filled up in Andhra Pradesh circle, around 1799 posts in Chhattisgarh circle and around 970 posts in Telangana circle.

The process of registering oneself online has begun on the official website of India Post from Tuesday, 15th of October 2019 and the deadline for the same is 14th of November 2019. Within this period, candidates will also be required to pay their online application fee.

The online application form filling process, however, will begin from the 22nd of October. The deadline for submitting all online applications will be the 21st of November 2019.

All applicants must go through the eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, age limit, experience and other such prerequisites before actually filling up the form. If they do not fulfil one or more of these requirements, their application will stand rejected.

The minimum age limit of applicants should not be less than 18 years while the maximum age should not exceed 40 years (as on 15.10.19). For some applicants belonging to specific categories, there is also the provision of age relaxation, which is mentioned with other details.

All applicants must have passed their class 10 board exams, having secured at least passing marks in English and Mathematics.

All candidates who have passed their class 10 examination in one go will be given priority over those who have passed the exam through the compartment. Another important requirement is the candidates’ knowledge of their local language and of computer skills even if basic.

The final selection will be made through a merit list which will be generated automatically based on the applications that the candidates submit online. The candidates’ class 10 marks will be taken into consideration for generating the merit list.

Candidates are supposed to register first and then fill up the application form. Application forms will be available online only. Candidates can log on to www.indiapost.gov.in or www.appost.in/gdsonline to register and apply.
