SBI Clerk Cutoff

9.1. Short Description:

Based on the above data, the cut-offs in a few states have been mentioned below. This shall give the candidates a rough idea as to how well they need to perform to keep up with the standards of the examination and secure a good place in merit list.

The cut off preliminary examination is calculated from a total of 100 marks whereas that of Main Examination is calculated from out of 200 marks in total.

10. Recruitment process and Vacancy Details:

Recruitment Process:

The following are the steps towards the recruitment process for the position of Junior Associates/ SBI Clerk.

Step 1: The First Phase consists of applying online for preliminary examination. The candidate needs to fill the form available on the official website and then submit the registration fees.

Step 2: An Admit Card is thereafter issued to the candidates. It is the candidate’s entry pass.

Step 3: The candidate then appears for the preliminary exam. The paper is divided into sections which have a specific time slot in which they need to be completed. The examination holds 100 marks. The minimum cut off is as decided by the SBI.

Step 4: The result is then announced. Those candidates who clear the preliminary examination can now appear for main examination. The admit card for the same is also issued once the results are announced.

Step 5: Following the preliminary examination, there is Main examination. This examination consists of 200 marks. It has 190 questions. It may be noted that there is a system of negative marking for every wrong answer entered in the paper. The passing marks for each section will be decided by the Bank.

Step 6: The candidates who clear each of these two examinations then move ahead to the interview round. The candidates are placed according to the descending order in their respective categories. Candidates who secure high merits will be selected for interview round and will receive a call letter for the same. The number of candidates who will be selected for interview depends upon the vacancy.

Step 7: Official and or local language test:

This examination is only for those candidates who have not produced their 10th standard mark sheet that reflects that they have studied the local language. Those candidates who are not proficient in the local/official language shall be disqualified.

Step 8: Final Selection

The marks secured by the candidate in preliminary examination shall not be included while computing the score. The marks secured in Main examination and interviews are computed for preparation of final list. The list of selected candidates will be uploaded online on the official website of SBI and in Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar.
