IISER Aptitude Test 2024
IISER 2024 Exam Information
The application form for IISER 2024 is now available on iiseradmission.in. The deadline for submitting applications for IISER 2204 is May 13, 2024. To qualify for the IISER 2204 exam, you must have achieved a score of 60% or higher in your class 12 exams.
The exam authority has announced the notification for the IISER IAT 2024 exam on both the official website and through newspaper advertisements. Starting from the 2024-2025 academic session, IISER IAT 2024 scores will be taken into account for all seats previously allocated based on KVPY and JEE Advanced scores.
Candidates will have 3 hours to complete the IISER 2024 question paper, which will be available in both Hindi and English. The examination will consist of multiple-choice questions, totaling 60 in number.
The expected release date for the IISER IAT 2024 Result is July 2024. The result link is now active on the official website iiseradmission.in. Candidates can access their IISER IAT 2024 Result by logging in with their user ID and password. Those who qualify the exam will be eligible for admission to the 5-year BS-MS programmes at IISERs and the 4-year BS programme at IISER Bhopal.

IISER 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Here is the eligibility criteria for IISER 2024:
Nationality: Applicants must be Indian Nationals, PIOs, or OCIs.
KVPY Stream:
Candidates must hold a valid KVPY scholarship starting from the 2024-2025 session.
SCB Streams:
- Must have completed the 10+2 or intermediate examination with a science stream between 2018 and 2024.
- Candidates must achieve marks equal to or above the specified cut-off percentage set by their respective boards.
- The cut-off percentage is 55% at the 10+2 level for all boards for SC/ST/KM category candidates.
- There is a 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for candidates belonging to the OBC-NC and PwD categories.
JEE Advanced Stream:
Candidates must pass the JEE Advanced examination and obtain a rank within the top 10,000 in the Common Rank List (CRL). For those belonging to the OBC-NC/SC/ST/PwD categories, their category rank will be taken into account.
IISER 2024 Registration
The IISER 2024 registration form is available for online completion on the official website of IISER. Students are required to fill out the IISER online application through SCB (State & Central Boards) streams, KVPY Stream, and JEE (Advanced) Stream.
Step 1 – Application Form Completion
Candidates need to provide the following personal and academic information:
- Full Name (as per Class X Board examination certificate)
- Date of birth (as per Class X Board examination certificate)
- Gender
- Category (GEN/OBC/SC/ST)
- Whether belonging to PD category
- Year of passing Class XII
- Name of parent/guardian
- Address for communication
- PIN code
- Phone/Mobile Number
- Email address
- Preferred IISER for counseling (select one)
- Choice of IISER for admission
Upon submission of the above details, an Application Number and password will be generated.
Step 2 – Payment of Fees
Here are the details of the Application Fees required for payment:
- General candidates are required to pay an Application Fee of INR 1500.
- SC/ST category & Kashmiri Migrants are required to pay an Application Fee of INR 750.
- Candidates can make the payment online or offline.
- The fee is non-refundable.
Step 3 – Uploading Photograph
Following the successful payment of the application fee, applicants need to upload a photograph adhering to the following specifications:
- It must be a recent, colored passport-size photograph.
- Format: jpg
- Size: should not exceed 1MB.
- The file name should consist of alphanumeric characters only.
Step 4 – Submission
Upon completion of the entire process, submit the online IISER 2024 Application Form and print it on A4 size paper.
Both the candidate and a parent/guardian must sign the printed IISER 2024 Application Form.
Ensure that the barcode printed on the IISER 2024 Application form remains intact and unaltered.
Safely keep the printed IISER 2024 Application Form and the bank slip confirming payment of the IISER examination fee, as they will be needed during counseling.
IISER 2024 Exam Pattern
Below are the details of the exam pattern:
- Exam Mode: The KVPY Aptitude Test will be conducted offline (pen-paper based).
- Question Type: The questions will be of the multiple-choice type.
- Exam Duration: The exam will last for 3 hours (from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM).
- Number of Questions: There will be 15 questions from each subject.
- Total Marks: The question paper will carry a total of 180 marks.
- Marking Scheme: Candidates will receive 3 marks for each correct response.
- Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Subjects: The question paper will cover PCMB subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology).

IISER 2024 Syllabus
The syllabus for the IISER 2024 exam will encompass topics from both Class 11th and 12th. It will include the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Biology
- Physics
- Chemistry
Physics: The syllabus will cover concepts such as Work, Energy and Power, Gravitation, Properties of bulk matter, Physical World and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Thermodynamics, Oscillations, Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Electromagnetic Induction, and Alternating Current.
Mathematics: Topics will include Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Sets, Relations and Functions, Trigonometric Functions, Sequences and Series, Limits and Derivatives, Mathematical Reasoning, Continuity and Differentiability, Integrals, Applications of Integrals, Statistics, Probability, Matrices, Determinants, Differential Equations, Vectors, and Three-dimensional Geometry.
Biology: The syllabus will encompass Structural organization in animals and plants, Diversity in the living world, Cell structure and function, Plant physiology, Human physiology, Biology and human welfare, Biotechnology and its application, Reproduction, Genetics, Evolution, Ecology, and Environment.
Chemistry: Topics will include Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, States of Matter, Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Thermodynamics, Redox Reactions, Hydrogen, Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Environmental Chemistry, The s-block Elements, The p-block Elements, The solid-state, Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Organic compounds containing nitrogen, Biomolecules, Polymers, Chemistry in everyday life, Surface chemistry, and The d- & f-block elements.
IISER 2024 Admit Card
The IISER 2024 Admit Card will become available on the official IISER portal. Candidates applying through the SCB channel can access and download their Admit Card exclusively via online mode. Other methods for obtaining the IISER 2024 Admit Card will not be accepted. It is mandatory for candidates to possess their admit card to gain entry into the exam center. Additionally, candidates must ensure they bring a valid admit card and a completed application form to the examination hall.
Steps to Download IISER 2024 Admit Card
Step 1: Visit the official website for IISER Admission 2024.
Step 2: Locate and click on the link for the IISER Admit Card 2024.
Step 3: Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth as required.
Step 4: The IISER 2024 Admit Card will be displayed on the screen.
Step 5: Download the admit card and ensure to print it out. Remember to carry this printout to the examination center on the day of the test.

IISER 2024 Result
The IISER 2024 Results are anticipated to be available by the final week of June 2024 on the official IISER website. Following the announcement of results, candidates can proceed to register for seat allocation. Seats will be assigned based on the candidates’ merit in the examination. Detailed cutoffs for IISER 2024 can be checked on the website.
Results will vary for candidates applying through the KYPY, JEE Advanced, and SCB channels. Admission to the institute will be offered according to the candidates’ ranks in the entrance exam or vice versa. The Joint Action Committee will publish the merit list. Successful candidates must fulfill certain formalities, including payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) and other relevant options, at the time of admission.
Candidates who have paid the SAF can benefit from the Float facility, enabling them to seek admission to any other IISER if they have already secured admission to one.
IISER 2024 Merit List
- The merit list for IISER is based on the total number of seats available through the SCB, KVPY channel, and JEE 2024.
- Seats will be allocated to candidates according to their position on the IISER merit list 2024.
- Inclusion on the IISER’s merit list depends on the programme and institute choices made by the candidate.
- Candidates can apply through different channels but must meet the eligibility criteria set by IISER 2024.
IISER 2024 Counselling
The counseling process for IISER 2024 comprises three rounds. Additionally, a Special Round for IISER SCB Admissions may be conducted if any seats remain unfilled. Counseling for IISER Admissions 2024 includes students applying via JEE Advanced, KVPY, and the IISER Aptitude Test, and it will be conducted simultaneously for all three channels (KVPY, SCB, JEE) in June 2024.

IISER Cutoff
Seat allocation is determined by the merit list, seat availability, and candidate preferences. Applicants applying through the State and Central Boards channel must also take and pass the IISER Aptitude Test 2024.
