Sir MVIT Bangalore Admission Process

Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, is popularly known as Sir MVIT Bangalore. It is named after Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, who was a well-known Engineer, Statesman and also a former Diwan of Mysore.

The institute was established in 1986 and it was founded by the Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust. It offers technical education at Undergraduate, Postgraduate as well as Doctoral level. Admission to all the programs is taken considering the Entrance exam scores followed by counselling.

Sir MVIT Bangalore Admission Highlights

  • For Sir MVIT admission procedure in B.tech courses, the procedure is done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the CET or COMED K qualifying examination. All applicants must be at least 17 years of age. Applicants need to pass the 10+2 level examination from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Computer Science or Electronics as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and should have obtained at least 45% marks in the optional subjects.
  • For postgraduate level, M.tech courses admission is done on the basis of PGCET or GATE scores. All candidates should have a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a relevant field with at least 50% marks and 45% in case of candidate belonging to the reserved category of Karnataka. 
  • For doctoral-level PhD courses, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of Entrance examination followed by an interview. Applicants having M.E or M.Tech in a relevant stream are eligible to apply.
