About College

Sir MVIT Bangalore was established in 1986 by a group of philanthropists. The institute is named after the Bharat Ratna Engineer and Statesman Sir M. Visvesvaraya. During the year 2001-2002, postgraduate and integrated engineering courses were added to the institute’s curriculum.

Before that, in the beginning, only undergraduate courses were taught in the institute. Sir MVIT Bangalore offers many engineering courses on different academic levels of UG, PG and doctorate levels. 

The institute offers B.E. and M. Tech courses in Biotechnology Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing etc. MBA, MCA and B.E. lateral courses are also available in the institute.

The institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. In 2019, Outlook India has ranked Sir MVIT Bangalore on the 58th position among other engineering colleges. According to The Week’s rankings, Sir MVIT ranking is on 70th position in 2019.

In the list of Top Engineering Colleges in Karnataka affiliated to VTU, Sir MVIT ranks 13th. The institute is approved by AICTE and accredited grade ‘B++’ by NAAC.

Under the guidance of Dr AC Chandrasekhar Raju, the chairman of the institute, 260 faculty members run the institute. There are a total of 13 departments in the institute out of which eight departments belong to the engineering category.

These expert faculty members ensure the academic success of all students with their different and tested teaching techniques. 

Sir MVIT Bangalore Courses offered and Fee Structure

Sir MVIT offers 18 engineering courses on UG and PG level. B.E courses include subjects like Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Information Science and Engineering. BE (Lateral Entry) courses include subjects like Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering etc.

The M.Tech course includes subjects like Electronics, Computer Integrated Manufacturing
