Sir MVIT Bangalore was established in 1986 by a group of philanthropists. The institute is named after the Bharat Ratna Engineer and Statesman Sir M. Visvesvaraya. During the year 2001-2002, postgraduate and integrated engineering courses were added to the institute’s curriculum.

Sir MVIT Bangalore Admission Process
To get admission to Sir MVIT College Bangalore, there are some qualifying exams that candidates have to pass. Candidates are required to get certain scores in these exams to get admitted to a particular course.
There are two exams considered for admission in B. E and M. Tech courses. KEA is the exam conducted by the Karnataka government and is followed by a CET and COMED-K counselling round.
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering) is another exam considered for M. Tech applicants. B. E applicants are required to score certain marks in KEA-CET exam and M. Tech applicants are required to score certain marks in GATE exam.
However, the final selection of the candidates is based on the combined score of the qualifying exam and the personal interview round score.
- For admission in full-time M. Tech course, GATE score is considered.
- For admission in full-time B. E course, COMED-K or CET score is considered.
- For admission in full-time B.E lateral course, COMED-K or CET score is considered.

Sir MVIT Bangalore Result and Cut-off
The cut -off list is the main deciding factor for students to get admitted to a certain course. The cut-off list is announced after the results of qualifying exams are declared.
The candidates are required to cross the cut-off marks to get admission in the B. E. or M. Tech course. COMED-K or CET cut-off mark is required to be crossed by B.E. candidates and GATE cut-off marks are required to be crossed by M. Tech candidates.
The cut–off list is prepared on the basis of a number of participating candidates, the scores in the qualifying exam, the difficulty level of the exam and the number of seats available for a particular course in the institute.
