Established in 1997, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) is situated in East Sikkim and holds the distinction of being Sikkim’s inaugural technological campus. Moreover, it stands as the sole institution in East India to house an Atal Incubation Center supported by the Government of India through NITI Aayog.

In East Sikkim, SMIT provides admission opportunities in 11 prominent degree programs encompassing the fields of Science, Engineering, and Management, available at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
