I saw that link prior opening this one, but that is primarily GK thread dedicated towards MBA Entrance exams like SNAP, IRMA, TISS, while this one is for mainly Banking/PSU exams.

But this thread is completely different as we are discussing CA & GA here.

Now just the questions from NABARD and tell me how many of them can be found in that thread.

Besides economic issues, international meets, govt. budget updates, and social issues in slight more details are asked in these questions,

Therefore, i would request mods to see the objective of this thread from the aspirants view, which differ in the cases of MBA & these specialized exams and not from a generalized view.

We know that there is a thread on GK already but it's orientation is more towards MBA exams like SNAP , IRMA TISS etc where as the GA section of PO exams is a lot different and mainly focuses on Govt schemes , economic issues , Monetary policy and current affairs. india creadted history by winning 101 medals(g-38,s-27,b-36),in athletics history was created when indias krishna ponnia,harwant kaur and seema antil bagged all three positions in discus throw(never has india bagged all three positons in a sports game)also won 4*100m relay gold.
tt:achnata sarath kamal and subhojit saha won gold for first time in commonwealth games doubles for india.
badminton:saina nehwal won gold (1st lady to do it in common wealth)
women wrestling was 1st time introduced in this common wealth games(india won three golds and one silver.)

NBFC or Non Banking Financial Companies is a company in India, which is registered under the Companies Act, 1956, and which provides banking services without meeting the legal definition of a bank.

The NBFCs do the business of loans and advances, acquisition of shares, stock, bonds, debentures, securities issued by Government. They also deal in other securities of like marketable nature, leasing, hire-purchase, insurance business, chit business. They are no in agriculture activity, industrial activity, sale/purchase/construction of immovable property.

Unlike the Banks, they cannot accept demand deposits, they are not part of the payment and settlement system and they cannot issue cheques drawn on them. The facility of deposit insurance by Deposit insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation is not available for NBFC's.

There are 3 types of NBFC's classified by reserve bank of India:
(i) Asset Finance Company (AFC)
(ii) Investment Company (IC)
(iii) Loan Company (LC)

A NBFC is incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 and desirous of commencing business of non-banking financial institution as defined under Section 45 I(a) of the RBI Act, 1934 should have a minimum net owned fund of Rs. 2 Crores.

All NBFCs are not entitled to accept public deposits. Only those NBFCs holding a valid Certificate of Registration with authorization to accept Public Deposits can accept/hold public deposits. NBFCs authorized to accept/hold public deposits besides having minimum stipulated Net Owned Fund (NOF) should also comply with the Directions such as investing part of the funds in liquid assets, maintain reserves, rating etc. issued by the Bank.

Banking in INDIA
* reserve bank of india was established on 1st april 1935 and it was nationalised on 1st january 1949.
* the emperial bank was estd in the year 1921 by merging three main presidency banks.
* the largest bank-imperial bank was nationalised in 1955 and rechristened as state bank of india.
* in 1959, 7 regional banks were nationalised and given the status of Associate banks on state bank of india.
* on 19th july 1969, 14 big commercial banks and on 15th april 1980, six other scheduled banks were nationalised , bringing total number of nationalised bank to 27.
