IIT Madras M.Tech Selection Criteria
Admission to the M.Tech program will be determined primarily by the applicant’s performance in the GATE examination.
Additionally, there are several other admission categories available, including:
- IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher (on a scale of 10) may apply without a GATE score.
- Candidates sponsored by recognised organisations under DST as Research and Development units, as well as those sponsored by NIOT, educational institutions approved by AICTE/UGC/Government, or Government/Public Sector Undertakings.
- For the Quality Improvement Program, direct admission will be granted based on tests and interviews.
