IIT Delhi Scholarships

IIT Delhi is one the best engineering institutes in the country which many people dream of getting into. Even if some score the marks needed for the cutoff, they are not able to afford the fees of education because of a financial crisis in the family. For this reason, IIT Delhi offers some financial assistance to the students so that their education is not hindered. The institute provides three forms of financial assistance for financially backward students and research candidates.

MCM (Merit Cum Means) scholarship is available to those who have the merit but don’t have the means to afford it. It is awarded to 25% of the students. The students who receive the scholarship are exempted from paying their tuition fees. The candidates for this scholarship are selected on the basis of the ranks they acquired in the All India Joint Entrance Examination (AIJEE).

Research assistance is provided to students who are willing to work for the department. A sum of 15,000 per month is awarded to those who can work up to 20 hours a week. The students who are admitted to the MS research programme on a full-time basis are also eligible for a research scholarship awarding a sum of 12,400 per month. They should provide 8 hours a week to the department. Apart from scholarships, the institute also provides education loans from specific banks.
