Scholarships

IIM Bangalore Scholarships

The Indian Institute of Management was created on the ideals of equal opportunity in education and therefore, the institution has multiple scholarships and means of providing financial aid to the students who need or deserve them.

Broadly, these means can be categorised into two.

Financial Aid Programme

The college provides financial aid to those students who have an economically unstable background. Any PGP student whose annual household income (this includes the candidate’s own income should they have been employed in the year before joining IIMB) in less than INR 6,00,000 per annum or those who faces an unforeseeable economic crisis (that sends their household annual income down to less than INR 6,00,000 per annum) is eligible to apply for financial aid.

The Financial Aid Committee has a two-step process to select from among the applicants deserve the financial aid. In the first step, the applicants are given a financial status score based on an aggregate of their Annual Gross Household Income, Household Savings, Real Estate Assets and Other Assets. Depending on this score, the Committee may call up some of the applicants for a personal interaction with a faculty panel. The panel’s job is judge the genuinness of the applicant’s stated plight. Based on these rounds, the Committee may grant a 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% or 100% scholarship.

IIM Bangalore Scholarship Programmes

The Scholarship Programmes of IIM Bangalore were initiated with the intention of awarding them on a merit based programme. There are 14 active scholarship programmes in IIMB.

Aditya Birla Scholarship Both the first and the second year PGP students are eligible for this merit-based scholarship. First year students who are granted the scholarship can apply for its renewal in the second year, provided that they rank among the top 25% of their batch in the first year. The scholarship sum is INR 1.75 lakh per student.
OPJEMS Scholarship This is a merit-based scholarship given to PGP student of the second year. The top ten students of the 2nd year based on the academic performance in the 1st year are eligible to apply. An online test will be conducted by the OP Jindal Group and based on their performance, one student of each academic year will be awarded INR 1.50 lakh.
Citi Women Leader’s Awards This merit scholarship covers the second year’s tuition fees. The candidates are selected from the top 25% academics of the first year batch. The nomination is made by the institute and the students are shortlisted based of their Statement of Purpose and the following interviews conducted by Citi Group.
Societe Generale Global Solution Centre India Scholarship This is a means oriented scholarship that covers the entire tuition expenses. The candidates are selected from the most needy applicants in the first year and on the basis of the subsequent interviews scheduled by Societe Generale.
Siddhartha Padam Award This scholarship is awarded to a PGP student who is not only on the Director’s Merit List but is also the one who gets the highest CGPA in the Economics, Finance & Accounting core subjects in their first year. The award carries a cash prize of INR 50,000 along with a medal and a certificate.
IIM-B PGP Alumni First Batch (1976) Scholarship This scholarship is given out to differently-abled women (should there be no eligible women, a differently-abled male is eligible) from the PGP batches. The scholarship aims to assist the student with a purse worth INR 75000, a medallion and a certificate.
Runwal Education Trust Scholarship This scholarship is given to a PGP student based on a weighted average of their academic performance in the 1st year and their financial need. The scholarship is worth INR 100000, a medallion and a certificate.
Hindustan Unilever / T Thomas Scholarship This merit-cum-means scholarship is given by HUL to one PGP second-year student and is worth INR 1 lakh.
Yes Bank Scholarship This scholarship worth INR 2 lakhs is open to students who are among the ranks of the top 20 students as per the admission criteria based on the current CGPA and are members of at least one student committee.
NTPC Scholarship Scheme The scholarship amounts to INR 48000 per year. Students who belong to either SC, ST or PwD categories and are in their second year of management studies ar e eligible for the scholarship.
Employment in Social Sector Scholarship This scholarship reimburses the recipient one-third of the fees at the end of each year of work for the first three years in the social sector.
Ministry of Tribal Affairs Scholarship (ST) The Ministry of Tribal affairs, Government of India takes in applications for the National Scholarship for Higher Education for Scheduled Tribe students of the PGP batch of first year. This is a means scholarship that covers tuition expenses in full.
Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Scholarship (SC) The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Government of India takes in applications for the National Scholarship for Higher Education for Scheduled Caste students from Meritorious SC students of the PGP batch of first year. This is a means scholarship that covers tuition expenses in full.
Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Department of Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

The eligibility criteria mentions a person with disability having not less than 40% disability with a disability certificate from a competent medical authority. This is a means scholarship which is worth INR 2,55,000 per year.
