Results and Cutoffs

IIM Bangalore Cutoff 2025

The IIM Bangalore cutoff is the minimum CAT percentile required to receive an interview call. These cutoffs are used to prepare the first shortlist of candidates. The actual scores of those called for the interview may be higher. The shortlist is based on sectional scores (VARC, DILR, QA) as well as the overall aggregate.

IIM Bangalore Minimum Percentile Requirements (CAT 2025)

Category VARC DILR QA Aggregate
General 80 75 75 85
NC-OBC 70 65 65 75
EWS 70 65 65 75
SC 65 60 60 70
ST 55 55 55 65
PWD 50 50 50 60

These are the minimum sectional and overall percentile cutoffs required for the first shortlist.

IIM Bangalore Pre-PI Stage (Weightage Criteria)

In the first stage, candidates who meet the cutoff are included in the shortlist. A pre-PI score is then calculated using CAT section scores, academic performance, work experience, and diversity factors.

CAT Section-wise Weightage (Total: 55 points)

  • VARC – 19 points

  • DILR – 21 points

  • QA – 15 points

👉 Note: The gender diversity score is applied only in the pre-PI stage.

IIM Bangalore PI & WAT Stage (Post-PI Weightage)

In Stage II, shortlisted candidates appear for a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI), both conducted on the same day. The WAT usually lasts 30 minutes.

CAT Section-wise Weightage at Post-PI Stage (Total: 25 points)

  • VARC – 8.75 points

  • DILR – 10 points

  • QA – 6.25 points

The final admission decision is made by combining CAT scores, PI & WAT performance, academic records, and work experience into a composite score.
