Scholarships

IIITDM Kancheepuram Scholarships

IIITDM Kancheepuram offers own scholarships as well as accepts all sports of scholarships, provided under Central government norms and private scholarships.

Some of the financial aid provided by the institute are:

  • “ISHAN UDAY” Special Scholarship Scheme For North Eastern Region (UGC) :

A total Number of 10,000 Scholarships are offered every year. Students having domicile of NER, whose parental annual income is less than Rs.4.5 lacs per annum from all sources and who have secured admission in the first year of any degree course, either general degree course of technical or professional or medical or paramedical course are eligible to apply for the course. 

  • Scheme Of ‘Merit Cum Means Based Scholarship’ For Students Belonging To The Minority Communities (M/O Minority Affairs): A total number of 60,000 scholarships are offered every year. A student having Graduate level or Post Graduate level technical and professional courses from a recognized institution and whose parents or guardians of beneficiary’s annual income should not exceed Rs.2.50 lacs from all sources. 
  • Scheme Of ‘Post-matric Scholarship’ For Students Belonging To The Minority

Communities (M/O Minority Affairs): A total number of 30% scholarship will be awarded to girl students. In case the sufficient number of eligible girl students are not available, then the scholarships may be awarded to eligible boy students. Scholarships are awarded to students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents or guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.2.00 lakh. 

  • Scheme of Scholarship for Top Class Education for Students with Disability (M/o Social Justice and Empowerment, D/o Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities):

All Postgraduate or Diploma courses in India are covered in Post-matric Scholarship. Thus, Students having less than 40 % disability are not eligible. However, if a student’s annual income of parents should not exceed Rs. 6 Lakhs from all the sources to be eligible for this scholarship.

  • Scheme of Scholarship for Top Class Education for SC Students (M/o Social Justice and Empowerment) :

Students belonging to Sc category who have secured admission in the notified institution as per the norms and whose annual income of the family from all sources should not be more than Rs. 4.5 lacs are eligible to apply.

  • Scheme for Award of Financial Assistance for Education (Scholarship) to the Children of Beedi Workers :

Either of the parents of the students should be Beedi worker with at least six months service, includes Contract or Ghar Khata Workers also and their total monthly Income of the Worker’s family from all sources should not exceed more than Rs.10,000/-pm. 

  • Scheme for Award of Financial Assistance for Education (Scholarship) to the Children of Iron Ore, Manganese Ore & Chrome Ore Mine (IOMC) Workers

Either of the parents of the students should be Iron Ore Manganese & Chrome Ore Mines worker with at least six months service, includes Contract or Ghar Khata Workers also and their total monthly Income of the Worker’s family from all sources should not exceed more than Rs.10,000/-pm.

  • Scheme for Award of Financial Assistance for Education (Scholarship) to the Children of Limestone & Dolomite Mine (LSDM) Workers

Either of the parents of the students should be Limestone & Dolomite Mines worker with at least six months service, includes Contract or Ghar Khata Workers also and their total monthly Income of the Worker’s family from all sources should not exceed more than Rs.10,000/-pm.

  • Scheme for Award of Financial Assistance for Education (Scholarship) to the Children of Cine Workers (Ministry of Labour & Employment)

Either of the parents of the students should be Cine worker with at least six months service, includes Contract or Ghar Khata Workers also and their total monthly Income of the Worker’s family from all sources should not exceed more than Rs.10,000/-pm.

  • “National Scholarship for Higher Education of ST students (M/O Tribal Affairs) :

Students belonging to ST category and have secured admission in the notified Institutions according to the norms prescribed by the respective Institutions will be eligible for a scholarship under the scheme. The candidates total family income should not exceed Rs.6.0 lakh per annum from all sources. 

  • Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles (WARB, M/O Home Affairs) :

The Wards or widows of deceased CAPFs & AR personnel died in harness or election duty, wards of personnel disabled due to causes like attributable to Government service and Wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel in receipt of Gallantry Awards.

Or, the Wards or widows of retired and serving CAPFs & AR Personnel. (Personnel below Officer Rank III) Pursuing first professional degree programme in the field of Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B.Pharma, B.SC (Nursing, Agriculture, etc.), MBA and MCA etc. are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

  • PRIME MINISTER’S SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME for RPF (Ministry Of Railways) to encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel and widows (below the Rank of Gazetted officer): Students must secure 60% or above in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) or 12th Standard or Diploma or Graduation. This scholarship is admissible for only two wards per family and should be ensured by the beneficiaries as well as by the concerned zonal railways/RPSF.
  • CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEME OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS (Department of Higher Education)

All sorts of state-level scholarships are offered under this scholarship scheme.
