- Grade Pay: 4200.

Selection Process
The Selection process includes Written Examination. If you cleared Written Examination, it is followed by Document Verification. Once clearing the Document Verification stage, the candidate appears for the third stage which is Medical Test. After qualifying the medical test candidate is appointed by Indian Railways as junior engineer.

This department is known as one of the important ones among all. There are several posts under this department. Since this department is liable for maintenance it is divided into four branches.

This department is liable for the policy framing and IT related issues of the Railways. The departments only have one post under it which is junior engineer for IT. The selection procedure and salary structure is same for all departments. The salary increases according to the promotion and designation you achieve in future.
