Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) belongs to the Government of India. Till 1985, RRB was known as Railway Service Commission after that it was changed to Railway Recruitment Board. RRB offers secured jobs to the candidates. As and when required RRB conducts exam for recruiting eligible candidates for various posts like Junior Engineer (JE), Senior Section Engineer (SSE), Non-technical posts, Chemical, and Metallurgical Assistants, etc. RRB JE jobs attract fresh candidates. RRB JE Recruitment 2018-19 will be held for the recruitment for candidates for the post of Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer (Information Technology), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA). JE recruitment is especially for the candidates who are having an engineering qualification in Degree or Diploma from any recognized university. RRB has released 2018-19 notification for RRB JE for a total of 14,033 vacancies. The online application for RRB JE recruitment will start from 2nd January 2019 at the regional RRB sites and 31st January 2019 will be the last date to fill the RRB JE online application form. The vacancies released for JE are tentative; there are chances to increase or decrease at a later stage. Check the RRB JE official notification PDF (RRB CEN 03/2018), application info, fees, salary, vacancies, eligibility criteria, selection process, exam pattern, and syllabus, admit card etc. but the RRB JE exam date for 2019 has not yet released by the board. The candidates should also note that the online application for RRB JE recruitment can be done through the official website of RRB of the railway zone where the vacancy lies or for which the candidate wishes to apply for.

RRB JE 2019 Exam Date

The official notification for RRB JE 2018-19 has been released on 29th December 2019 via Employment Newspaper. Notifications regarding the latest updates will be uploaded on the official website then and there. This will include all the official notifications such as the important dates, steps to follow, results and also other exams related information. RRB has the right to cancel the exam without giving any reasons or also change the exam dates. Also, they have the right to change the exam centers if an emergency situation occurs. It is very important for the candidates to be updated about the exam dates and other details so that they could prepare for the exam accordingly. The online registration date for applying will be activated from January 02; 2019. The exam dates for JE will be updated soon. It is also important for the candidates to go through the eligibility criteria in order to ensure whether the candidates who are willing to apply for JE are eligible to apply which will be provided in the later part of the article. Candidates who are waiting for their final year results are not applicable to apply.

RRB JE 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for RRB JE state the minimum requirement for the candidates in order to be eligible to appear for the exams. It is important for the candidates to be aware of the eligibility criteria to appear for RRB JE exams. The following points will help the candidates to know about the eligibility criteria in terms of nationality, age limit, and educational qualification etc.

Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian national. Every candidate should provide their Aadhar number in order to be eligible to apply online.

Age limit: The candidates should be between 18-32 years for Junior Engineer, Material Superintendent, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant. The date of birth of both upper and lower age limits eligibility is given below:

  • For OBC candidates, upper date of birth would be 02-07-1980
  • For SC/SC candidates, upper date of birth would be 02-07-1978
  • For UR/Gen candidates, upper date of birth would be 02-07-1983
  • The lower date of birth for JE would be 01-07-1997

RRB JE 2019 Registration

Candidates who are willing to apply for RRB JE 2019 can apply online through the official websites of RRBs. The online application form will be active from 2nd January to 31st January 2019. Following are the instructions to apply for:

RRB JE 2019 Exam Pattern

RRB JE 2019 Admit Card

Admit card is one of the most important documents that a candidate must carry for the examination hall. Along with the admit card, candidates must carry one valid ID proof and a passport size photograph. The valid ID proof can be any of the following:

  • Aadhar card
  • Driving license
  • PAN card
  • Voter ID
  • Passport
  • If the candidate is a government employee, then he can bring his ID card as his proof
  • Valid ID cards of colleges, universities etc

It is very important to note that the candidates must carry the original ID card with them without which the candidates will not be allowed inside the exam hall.

RRB JE 2019 Result

The Railway Recruitment Board Junior Engineer results will be released on its official website. RRB will also release the merit and cutoff marks for all the categories. The candidates who score highest marks in the exam will be in the merit list of RRB JE exam.

Following are the steps to download the RRB JE result:

  • Visit the official website of RRB
  • Search for the RRB JE results 2018-19
  • Click on the JE results that will be displayed on the screen
  • Then RRB JE results will be displayed in PDF format
  • Save the result and take a print copy of it
  • Document Verification:

The candidates who are able to obtain the minimum cutoff in the written examination, they will be called for Document verification round. Here the candidates must produce their original documents like Degree certificate, Degree mark sheet, SSLC, HSC, ID proof, Address proof etc. also the candidates must provide the duplicates of the before mentioned copies to the board for their future reference.

  • Medical Test:

A medical test is the last stage in the JE exam. Here, the candidates must take the medical test from any gazette medical officer. Persons with problems in vision will not be qualified for this job.

RRB JE Cutoff

The official cutoff for RRB JE 2018-19 will be published by the board. The board itself will fix the cutoff for all the categories.  Candidates will be called for the next stage of the selection process based on the exam cutoff. There are some factors that will affect the cutoffs each year. They are as follows:

  • Number of candidates appearing for the exam
  • The difficulty level of the exam
  • Total number of vacancies
  • Top marks scored by the candidates
