Scheduled for November 24, 2023, the event gathers industry leaders, ESG experts, and academicians to discuss ESG reporting, leadership, governance, and sustainable education. Goa Institute of Management (GIM), a Principles for Responsible Management Education  (PRME) Champions School is organising a national-level ESG Conclave in partnership with UN  Global Compact Network India (GCNI), Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and  PRME India Chapter. 

This conclave is set against the backdrop of increasing global concerns about environmental,  social, and governance (ESG) issues. GIM recognises the urgency of the global call for sustainable practices and is ready to take the lead in this transformative journey. This national dialogue on ESG, also aligns with the institute’s commitment towards shaping responsible leaders and fostering a sustainable future. 

Scheduled for November 24, 2023, GIM’s upcoming conclave titled “Lead, Act and Report on  Environment, Social and Governance: Dialogue for a Sustainable Future” is set to be a  marquee event for ESG-led business transformation in India. The event will bring industry leaders, ESG experts and academicians together for deliberation on various facets of ESG reporting, including leadership, governance, partnerships, data and technology. This national conclave will also host a dialogue on how Management Schools as well as other higher education institutions can mainstream ESG in their curricula, research and other activities in order to develop responsible leaders for tomorrow.

    Conclave Agenda: A Glimpse into Sustainable Leadership 

The conclave will start with a welcome address by Professor Ajit Parulekar, Director of GIM,  setting the stage for an enlightening day of discussions. The keynote speech by Mr. Ratnesh  Jha, Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network India, will provide insights into the global perspective on responsible management. 

The event will feature a plenary session and two-panel discussions: 

  • LEAD – Leading the ESG Transition: 

Distinguished speakers, including Mr. Shrinivas Dempo, President of Goa Chamber of  Commerce & Industry, Mr. Manish Chaurasia, MD Tata Capital CleanTech Ltd, and Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Partner at Deloitte, will explore the role of executives and business leaders in driving sustainability-led transitions, building business cases for ESG, and the challenges and opportunities ahead. The session will be moderated by Mr. Aman Jaggi, Advisory Board member of GIM’s Centre for Social Sensitivity and Action and co-convenor of the ESG  Conclave. 

  • ACT: Driving the ESG Agenda (Leadership and Governance): 

This panel, moderated by Professor Neeraj Amarnani of GIM, will delve into translating the ESG  vision into actionable steps, creating a sustainability-focused mindset across stakeholders,  and the importance of collaboration with external partners. Speakers include sustainability leaders from Bangalore International Airport Limited, Brillio, and the International Council for  Circular Economy. 

The afternoon session will focus on the critical aspect of reporting: 

REPORT: Sustainability Tracking & Reporting:

Distinguished speakers, including Ms. Jyotsna Belliappa of BlueSky Sustainable Business and  Mr. Thiruvenkateswaran Ramachandran of Climeup.AI, will discuss global ESG reporting standards, readiness for ESG reporting, and the role of technology and sustainable tech startups in ESG tracking and reporting. The session will be moderated by Professor Arpita  Amarnani of GIM. 

The day concludes with a dialogue on the role of business schools and higher education  institutions in driving the ESG agenda in India/ Professor Chandrika Parmar, Associate  Professor at SPJIMR and Head of the PRME India Chapter will moderate this session
