Insight 2018: LIBA’s annual conference conducted at Hotel Raintree, featured some of the most prominent names from the business world. The event began at 9 am with the customary prayer and the lamp lighting ceremony. Rev. Fr. P. Christie SJ, the director of LIBA, greeted the gathering and Dr. S. Chellaiah, introduced the theme for the day.
This was soon followed by the chief guest, Mr. Ramanathan Ramakrishnan, Deputy Vice President-Quality of Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre, briefing the audience about the paradigm shift in the automotive industry. He elucidated that future technologies such as driverless cars will become a reality soon. After the short tea break session, the conference resumed with a masterclass on Blockchain Technology by Mr. Ram Vishwanathan, CTO-Blockchain Services. He carefully crafted a simple yet brilliant presentation on the hot topic of Blockchain mechanism.
Mr. Mani James, Senior Vice President-Head of Global Innovation center, Frost & Sullivan, apprised the gathering of the importance of Industry 4.0 and the cause and effect of market shifts and market disruptions. The conference was adjourned for lunch after this session. Mr. Krishna Raman, Industry Manager, Frost & Sullivan, took the dais post lunch and further elaborated on the processes and functions at Frost & Sullivan. Mr. Raman, impressed by the perspicacity of the audience, extended an offer to the LIBA faculty to utilize the data and technology of Frost & Sullivan.
Mrs. Gayathri, Associate Director- Healthcare, Cognizant Technology Solutions, then gave insights into how technology is shaping up the medical industry. The Valedictory session followed with an address by Mr. Jeff Rutherford, Center Head-IS Global Service Center, Expeditors. He spoke at length about his firm ‘Expedite’ and domain of expertise. Ms. Richa Pande, Adjunct Professor at LIBA, and Tanya Chopra, Insight Student Coordinator, gave the vote of thanks to close the proceedings of the day.
