IIM Kozhikode has recently revised its admission policy for the upcoming MBA admissions in the academic year 2024-25. Prospective candidates are eyeing admission to the postgraduate programmes, particularly through the CAT 2023 exams scheduled for November 26, 2023, playing a pivotal role. Those considering IIM Kozhikode for their academic pursuits should take note of the noteworthy changes introduced in the revised admission policy.

In a departure from the previous norms, the revised policy allocates a weightage of 35% to CAT exams. However, what sets this policy apart are the substantial changes in the allocation of weightage for gender and academic diversity. The revised policy designates 10% weightage to gender diversity and 5% to academic diversity. This marks a significant shift from the previous policy where both components collectively held a 10% weightage in shortlisting candidates.

A three-step selection process will be implemented for the PG program admissions at IIM Kozhikode. The process involves registration, shortlisting for the Writing Ability Test (WAT), and a Personal Interview (PI). The final shortlisting will be determined based on CAT 2023 scores, followed by the evaluation of candidates’ performance in WAT and PI.

IIM Kozhikode plans to release the list of shortlisted candidates for the second stage in the last week of January 2024, with the final merit list scheduled for announcement in the second week of May 2024.

Stage 1: Registration of Candidates, applies minimum eligibility criteria that include obtaining a positive raw score in all sections of CAT 2022. Additionally, candidates with a graduation degree must secure a minimum of 60% aggregate marks, while those without a graduation degree must obtain a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in CA/ICWA/CS to qualify. Successful completion of the online registration process is a prerequisite for consideration in

Stage 2: The preparation of a shortlist of candidates based on an Aggregate Index Score (AIS), considering performance in CAT 2023, Class X, Class XII, gender/academic diversity criteria, and work experience.

Stage 3: In the final stage, shortlisted candidates will undergo a WAT and PI, held in multiple cities. The evaluation during the PI process encompasses academic efforts, general awareness, attitude, personality, communication, and the quality of work experience. A resume score is calculated based on the quality of academic and professional qualifications.

Post WAT and PI, final scores will be computed based on CAT 2023, PI, WAT, and resume scores. A category-wise merit list will be prepared, adhering to Government of India reservation norms.

IIM Kozhikode has affirmed its commitment to the Government of India reservation policy for admission to Central Educational Institutions (CEIs). Prospective candidates are encouraged to thoroughly acquaint themselves with these revised admission procedures to enhance their chances of securing a spot in the esteemed institution.
