Forest Service Exam
UPSC announced examination for recruitment of Forest officers in Indian Forest Services (IFS). This examination mainly divided into two parts Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Exam 2018 so that candidates can be selected for the main exam. The IFS officers after selection are assigned State Cadres or Joint Cadres of State and the centre. They are required to serve both the central government and the state governments from time to time as per the requirement of the hour. The IFS officers prima responsibility is to implement the government plans and programmes under the ambit of the National Forest Policy. They function as the administrative head of the forest area for which they are posted. They have the mandate to function independently of the district administration. IFS Exam 2018 Important Dates: Official notification of the exam 7th February 2018. End Date of Application 6th March 2018. Prelim Exam date. 3rd June 2018. Mains Exam date 2nd December 2018. IFS 2018 Exam Eligibility: Age Limit : Candidate applying for IFS should have minimum age of 21 years and maximum 32. 5 Years Relaxation for SC/ST category and 3 years for OBC Category. Qualification : Candidate must have degree of graduation with one subject or more as Forestry/ Engineering/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Zoology/Agriculture/ Physics/ Statistics/ Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences and Botany from recognized university. Fees : Applicant needs to pay Rs. 100/- as an application form. Pay into any of the branches of SBI via cash or online banking provision. However, reserved categories and female aspirants exempted from paying any application fee. IFS 2018 Exam Result : The result of the IFS Exam comes in various stages. First, comes the Preliminary exam result and thereafter the Mains exam result. The qualified candidates are required to appear for the personal interview at the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). After adding up the aggregate marks of the candidates in the Mains exam and the Interview the final merit list of successful candidates is prepared. Students can check their results online at the official website of the UPSC.
