SSC GD 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The SSC GD constable eligibility criteria include many different categories like qualification, age limit, age relaxation, and the most important physical standards for the post of SSC GD constable that should be considered for appearing for the exam. In case if the candidate doesn’t fulfil the eligibility criteria then the candidate will be disqualified for all the posts of constable by the commission. So the candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria for SSC GD constable post. The criteria are as follows.

a). Nationality:

The candidates must be either:

  • A citizen of India or
  • A subject of Nepal or
  • A subject of Bhutan or
  • Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1st, 1962 to be settled permanently in India.
  • A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan, East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Zaire, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

b). Educational Qualification:

  • The candidates must have passed 12th standard from any recognized Board/University.
  • If the candidate has not acquired the educational qualification at the time of filling the application form then, the Delhi police will cancel the candidature of such candidate.

c). Age Limit:

  • The age limit for the post of Constable (Exe) male is 18-21 years and for the female is 18-25 years.
  • The candidates should note that only the date of birth as recorded in the matriculation/secondary exam certificate will be accepted by the commission for determining the age eligibility.

Age relaxation for SSC GD exam is as follows:

Scheduled Castes (SC) 5 years
Scheduled Tribes (ST) 5 years
OBC 3 years
Ex-servicemen (unreserved/general) 3 years after deduction of military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date.
Ex-servicemen (Other Backward Caste) 6 years (3+3 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date
Ex-servicemen (SC) 8 years (3+5 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date
Ex-servicemen (ST) 8 years (3+5 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date
Departmental female/male candidates for open vacancies in Delhi police only. Departmental candidates (unreserved) who have rendered not less than 3 years of continuous and regular service as on closing date. Up to 30 years of age
Departmental candidates (SC) who have rendered not less than 3 years of continuous and regular service as on closing date Up to 35 years of age
Departmental candidates (ST) who have rendered not less than 3 years of continuous and regular service as on closing date Up to 35 years of age
Sportsmen and women (unreserved) Up to 5 years
Sportsmen and women (OBC) Up to 5 years
Sportsmen and women (SC) Up to 10 years (5+5 years)
Sportsmen and women (ST) Up to 10 years (5+5)
Daughters/sons of serving, deceased retired police personnel/ multi-tasking staff (formerly group D employees) of Delhi police Up to 25 years of age
Widow/judicially separated women/divorced women Up to 30 years of age

The candidate belonging to the physically handicapped category is not eligible to apply for the examination of SSC GD.

The personnel of Central Paramilitary forces will not be eligible to apply under Ex-servicemen category.
