IBPS CWE Clerk 2018 Exam Information

What is IBPS Clerk Exam?

IBPS conducts Common Recruitment Process for selection of personnel for Clerical cadre Posts (IBPS Clerk) in the organisations participating in the exam process. Any eligible candidate, who aspires to be selected as a Clerk or in a similar post in that cadre, is required to register for the Common Recruitment Process (CWE Clerks -VIII).

The 2018 exam will be the 8th edition of this exam and the online examination (Preliminary and Main) for the next Common Recruitment Process will tentatively be scheduled on 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th December 2018 & 20th January 2019.

IBPS Clerk 2018 Vacancy

As per the IBPS Clerk 2017 Official Notification’ there were 7883 vacancies in total. This year (2018) IBPS has released 7275 positions for IBPS Clerk vacancies (to fill requirements for 2019 – 20) 

IBPS gives out state-wise vacancies and detailed breakup can be referred to in the 2018 notification. This year, Uttar Pradesh has highest reported vacancies for IBPS Clerk posts with 944 total vacancies followed by Tamil Nadu with 792 total vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria for IBPS CWE Clerk VIII 

Below is the eligibility criteria as per the 2017 notification, the same will be updated if there are changes in the 2018 notification:

I. Nationality / Citizenship

A candidate must be either –
(i) an Indian citizen OR
(ii) a Nepalese or Bhutanese subject OR
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India OR
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India

For categories iv and v, appropriate certificate issued by GoI is necessary. 

II. Age (As on 01.09.2018)

Minimum Age: 20 years

Maximum Age: 28 years
