XIME Bangalore Admission 2024

XIME Bangalore offers 2-year PGDM as its flagship program in 6 specializations. The program is equivalent to an MBA degree and has an intake of 240 students for PGDM & 60 students for PGDM BA. XIME Bangalore Admission for 2024 is open. Any candidate with a credible score, and with a valid scorecard at the time of application, can apply.

Final selection for PGDM in XIME Bangalore will be on the overall assessment of candidates in Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Academic Background, Extra-curricular, and Diversity. The weights of various criteria are given below:

Apart from PGDM, XIME Bangalore also offers admission to PhD program which is governed by University of Mysore. Currently, 13 scholars are doing their PhD degrees under XIME Research Centre and two scholars have successfully completed their Pre-Thesis Colloquium. Selection to PhD is done on the basis of Entrance Test conducted followed by PI. It is compulsory for the students to secure 55 marks in the entrance test to be eligible for further admission process. XIME Bangalore also considers work experience (if any) and past academic record for final admission.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks for all subjects taken together (45% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Candidates who are appearing for their final year examination and are awaiting their results may also apply. However, they should have maintained an average of 50% marks in the degree course until then.
  • They should be completing all their degree examinations before *25th June 2024. Such candidates are required to produce proof of passing the Degree examination with the minimum required marks of 50%, latest by *30th September 2024.
  • Applicants who have un-cleared backlog papers in graduation, are not eligible to apply.

The field of Business Analytics has assumed universal importance in the recent years, owing to the adoption of digital transformation strategy and what is termed as Industry 4.0 strategy. This has created a growing demand for managers with requisite business analytics skills to process large amount of data being collected and take effective business decisions based on it. The short-term courses offered in business analytics by many institutions are proving inadequate to meet the skills that are in demand. Hence it is the right time to launch a full term program to prepare and train the next generation managers for business and industry needs in respect of Business Analytics.

Comprehensive Evaluation System

Evaluation is based on a continuous and versatile system of periodic quizzes, class tests, mid-term tests, assignments, live projects, class participation, and end-of-term written examinations. Setting A High Standard For Qualification

A minimum standard in academic performance is required to qualify for the Diploma. A minimum CGPA of 4.5 is required for promotion from the first year to the second year and a CGPA of 5 (B average) is required at the end of the second year in order to be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Management & Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Business Analytics.

XIME Bangalore is a recognized research center by University of Mysore for conducting Ph.D. programme in Management. It provides guidance assistance, infrastructure and academic support for faculty members and research scholars with a high degree of professional competence and commitment to upholding high research standards. XIME has been recognized as a Research Center in Management by the University of Mysore from the academic year 2015 -16. The objective of the Research Center is to provide a nurturing and challenging environment for doctoral students. XIME has recognized Research Guides specialized in various areas like Marketing, International Business, Finance, Business Excellence, Information systems, Business Strategy, General Management, Knowledge Management, Innovation, Economics and several other allied subjects.

XIME Research Center plays the role of an information provider, facilitator and agent catering to the needs of research aspirants. XIME aims at excelling in research and bringing about revolutionary change keeping in mind the management needs of the future of work. The programme is planned to provide an opportunity to attain the maximum potential in their field through intensive research. XIME envisages a greater emphasis on academic research in management. Ph.D. Committee

Admission to Ph.D. programme and conduct of Ph.D. program will be overseen by a committee coordinated by Dean (Research). The Director is the chairman of the committee. A third member will be drawn from the available Ph.D. guides/Senior faculty members.

   Ph.D. Admission

Ph.D. admissions at XIME Research Center are governed by the Mysore University admission rules notified on the website of the University of Mysore. Apart from the academic requirements prescribed by Mysore University, XIME requires the Research scholars to publish innovative research articles with high impact factors and undertake research projects of international/national funding agencies.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

As per the existing rules of the University of Mysore, a candidate must have a Master’s Degree or any other Degree / Diploma of any recognized university/institution with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA /Grade. A candidate who has completed M.Phil., with a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade is eligible for admission even if his/her marks in master’s degree is less than 55% provided the candidate has got admission to M.Phil., by an entrance examination.

However, this condition is relaxed to 50% in case of:

a) SC/ST candidates/Cat-I candidates.

b) In-service candidates with a minimum of five years of regular experience associated with the teaching profession as teacher’s/library professionals/physical education instructors/laboratory staff in educational institutions.

c) A candidate who has completed a master’s degree prior to 19 Sept 1991.

2. The candidate shall also appear for the Entrance Test conducted by the University of Mysore.

The Entrance Test shall consist of one paper on the broad area of PH.D. of 100 marks with 3 hours’ duration. Syllabus of the paper shall be framed by the respective Boards of Studies based on UGC/CSIR National Eligibility Test (net)pattern. The question paper shall contain 50 objective type questions of one mark each, and essay type/short answer questions for 50 marks. For candidates intending to do inter/multidisciplinary research, the Entrance Test shall be a a common Entrance Test in a general paper and the syllabus of the paper shall be framed by the inter/Multidisciplinary Board of studies. A candidate securing at least 55 marks out of 100 (50marks out of 100 in case of SC/ST/CAT-1 Candidates) in the Entrance Test shall be declared as eligible to probable guide (s)supervisor(s) and appear for an interview to be conducted for him/her. In case an eligible candidate desires to approach more than one probable guide he/she has to undergo interview test before each of the probable guide. The guide will prepare a merit list based on the performance of the candidate in the interview conducted by him/her.

The interview /viva voce shall also consider the following aspects, viz, whether:

  • The candidate possesses the competence for the proposed research
  • The research work can be suitably undertaken at the institution/college
  •  The Proposed area of research can contribute to new /additional knowledge.

It should be noted that successful completion of entrance test and appearance for an interview before a probable guide just imply the eligibility of a candidate for admission to Ph.D. degree in the University, but shall not guarantee an admission to Ph.D. degree programme.  The results of the Entrance Test shall be declared by the Registrar (Evaluation) who shall issue the eligibility Certificate to successful candidates in the Entrance Test. The Eligibility shall be valid for one year from the date of the entrance test till the next entrance is notified

Candidates who have qualified for UGC/CSIR, JRF fellowships through UGC/CSIR, NET Examinations /SLET/GATE are exempted from Entrance Test. Candidates who have completed M.Phil. course /who have joined M.Phil. course are also exempted from the entrance test provided the M.Phil. /Equivalent course was through an entrance examination. However, all such candidates have to undergo an interview before the probable guide(s)and obtain the consent /acceptance letter from the guide, if vacancies are available.

Admission Procedure

Candidates interested in taking admission to Ph. D programme at XIME Research Centre must apply by filling up the prescribed application form placed at below along with the copies of all their qualifications from class Xth to Post Graduation and the result of PhD entrance exam/UGCNET/KSET/M.Phil exam. They should also enclose a DD for Rs. 2000/- as application fee in favour of Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship, Bangalore.

Selection of candidates will be based on academic records, work experience, if any, marks secured in the Entrance Examination, and interviews conducted at XIME, Bangalore. Fulltime Research scholars will be eligible for stipend as per the rules of the institute. Ph.D. Candidates will have to pay the prescribed fees of XIME as well as the University.
