SIES College of Management Studies, Mumbai Overview
The SIES College of Management Studies (SIESCOMS) was established in 1995 by the South Indian Education Society (SIES) in Navi Mumbai. SIESCOMS is one of the oldest educational trusts in the city of Mumbai, which was developed by Shri M.V. Venkateshwaran in 1932.
The institution is rightly located in Nerul, which is the academic hub of Navi Mumbai with the best infrastructure worthy of a leading business school.
SIES provides three PGDM courses- General, Pharmaceutical Management and Biotechnology. In fact, SIES College is one of the first institutes to start a vertical MBA programme exclusively on the pharmaceutical industry. Even very few Indian institutes provide an MBA program on biotechnology.
For candidates hoping to pursue masters, SIES College of Management Studies has two programmes. It also provides an Executive PGDM programme for professionals.
In 2018, SIES Mumbai’s ranking was 13th among all the private business schools in India by the Times Of India B-School Survey. This institute is accreditated for its 2 year PGDM programme from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), USA, which is one of the greatest accreditation agency in the whole world.
SIES College Mumbai has over 70 core and visiting faculties. Dr Bigyan Prakash Verma, the director of SIES, handpicks the faculties based on their industry experience.
He makes sure all the faculties have knowledge of the industry and do their best in imparting the knowledge to the students.
SIES Courses Offered and Fee Structure
SIESCOM offers three PGDM courses, which are categorized in General, Pharmaceutical Management and Biotechnology. For candidates who want to study Master’s, there’s a Masters in Computer Application (MCA) and Masters in Management Studies (MMS). For working executives who want to work at a managerial level, there’s the executive programme, AIMA PGDM.

SIES Mumbai Admission Process
Candidates are selected on the basis of CAT, MH-CET, MAT, XAT, CMAT or ATMA scores conducted by the IIMs. The candidates need to score more than the average cutoff to get selected for the final round. The final round consists of a personal interview and a group discussion.
- For the three full-time PGDM courses, candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in exams like CAT, MH-CET, MAT, XAT, CMAT or ATMA.
- For full-time masters courses, MCA and MMS, the selection criteria adhere to the rules of Mumbai University.
- For AIMA PGDM, the candidates need to have some work experience and pass the entrance examination.
SIES has a committee dedicated to having students placed in reputed companies. In the last few years or so, SIESCOM has been able to achieve a 95-100% success level in placements. In the 2018-2019 batch, the college saw a participation of over 200 recruiters in the placement drive.
98% of the students who participated were selected to join various companies. The highest salary package offered 18 lakhs per annum.

SIES Results and Cutoff
PGDM candidates are selected on the basis of CAT scores. Scores achieved in other exams like MH-CET, MAT, XAT, CMAT or ATMA are also considered. The cutoff percentile is decided after the exam results are announced and the performance for that year is evaluated.
The cutoff for CAT 2018 was 50%. The cutoff for CMAT in 2019 is 80%. For the master's programme, the selection is done on the basis of the academic record.

SIES Alumni Network
SIESCOM has an alumni cell, which helps the students who have already completed their term, to stay connected with the institution. They have the alumni cell in LinkedIn that the students can join for free.
SIESCOM has a separate trust, which provides the students with some financial aid. The trust, The SIES Education Assistance Trust (SEAT), was inaugurated by A P J Abdul Kalam in 2008. This scholarship awards 500 students from various institutions of SIES. 50 lakhs is distributed to the students on an annual basis.
This is a Merit Cum Means scholarship. Other government scholarships are applicable for SIES, which are based on merit and can be availed from their websites.
SIES Campus Facilities
SIESCOM boasts of a state of the art infrastructure spread over an area of 3 acres in the academic hub of India, Navi Mumbai. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled to provide uninterrupted digital tasks.
It has spacious classrooms, which are equipped with LCD projectors for better learning. Its large well-stocked library has a reading room where the student can access and research about 35,000 books and online journals.
The campus provides hostel separately for boys and girls for accommodation and has all the basic amenities to make a student’s life pleasurable and enjoyable at the campus. It has an auditorium, playground, gymnasium, canteen and banking facility.
