About College

The National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand was established in 2009, by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under the Parliament Act.

Later on, it was recognised as the Institute of National Importance. It is considered as one of the best emerging engineering colleges among other NITs. The institute has been accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). 

NIT Uttarakhand offers many engineering courses on different academic levels like undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. These courses include B. Tech, M. Tech and PhD courses with specializations in subjects like  Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Microelectronics and VLSI Design, Manufacturing Technology etc.

NIT Uttarakhand ranking is 38th by India Today among top Engineering Colleges in 2018. Uni Rank has placed the institute in the country on 426th rank. 

Under the guidance of the chairman of the institute, Mr. Bhaskar Bhat six departments are offered. These departments are Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Science and Humanities.

Five deans and six associate deans control the Planning & Development, Academic Affairs, Research & Consultancy and Development & International Affairs branches. NIT Uttarakhand faculty members are well experienced in making the students enough eligible to face the corporate world.
